    I don't think patience and pitch recognition are things that can be learned. He will always be a hacker with limited skills.

    This offense is crazy good so far this year, even with a bunch of scrubs at the bottom of the order. Just imagine if the jays had decent options instead of Goins and Pillar to run out there every day. 1st in Runs (314) the d-backs surprisingly 2nd with (267) 1st in XBH (202) dodgers with (188) 1st in OBP 1st in OPS It is however, surprising to me how the Jays collectively have only been walked once intentionally. You would think with some of the scrubs that have followed the big bats this season that this would happen a little more often than once so far. If this team gets and stays healthy, is it possible for them to come close or even eclipse the elusive 1000 run mark for a season?

    These two statement kinda of contradict each other don't ya think? If it means almost nothing why so adamant on the switch late in games? Reyes range is awful the last few years. There is a huge difference between him and goins defensively, its sad that some don't see it.

    the fact that goins isn't starting at ss when paired with Reyes is mind boggling. Reyes no doubt would have a hissy fit if this occurred. I hate how baseball is the only sport that caters to ego over actual production. with that being said. Goins is a bum and should be in the minors but ffs if you have to play him with Reyes, play him at short.

    It's a shame Edwin has no positional versatility. It really f***s up everything

    Losing nearly 4MPH on his fastball since 2011 is big contibuter as well, it's basically just a really bad knuckleball now and it gets hammered. It was a nice pitch for him back with the Mets that he threw for strikes consistently, with the 8-10 MPH difference between his knuckler really f***ing with a batters timing. The Dickey decline is a continuing trend and picking up his option (12M) for next year is looking less likely especially if there is turnover in the front office. Someone stated in another thread he would better suited in a Tim Wakefield type of role, I think he would thrive pitching every other day eating up innings when needed as this young staff endures its growing pains. Its a shame AA didn't address the SP depth to actually make this a viable option this season.
