  1. 1985 Blue Jays still hold best season record for the team. Here's the Jays winning the the division title (full game): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2HwbEEAKA8 I was only a kid at the time, and it would not be until after the 1993 season that I would attend a game, so I missed out on the Exhibition Stadium days. As bad as that stadium was, it was probably fun to see a game there if you had a good seat.
  2. You won't have to put up with it for too much longer. They're supposed to be installing another new turf next season, before they install grass sometime in 2018.
  3. Just some advice, but avoid parking at Jiffy Park. I have a feeling the owners are lending out people's cars for hookers to turn tricks. The other day I found a used condom on the floor of my car.
  4. As I said in my original post, the land is no longer there. In the years since, it looks as if apartments have been put up in the surrounding area. There's no space for a stadium. This is why I can't see a new Jays stadium ever being built. First, the Rogers Centre is already in a good location. While it's a fair walk from Union Station, it's still easy to get to, and it's downtown. Where else could the build a new stadium? More and more condos are being built left and right.
  5. I have no idea if these would have been the finished products. Look at some of the designs proposed for the Skydome, back in the day: http://blogimages.thescore.com/djf/files/2013/09/domeBHmodel.jpg http://blogimages.thescore.com/djf/files/2013/09/domeCBmodel.jpg
  6. Well, they have a stadium. This was to be the new Expos stadium: http://www.ballparksofbaseball.com/future/renderings/labatt11952.JPG http://www.stadiumpage.com/blog/labatt1.jpg I believe the land where the stadium would have been built is now gone. Here's the latest proposed stadium http://www.mtlblog.com/uploads/2013/12/x11340796646_c9e5cfd9a6_c-650x439.jpg.pagespeed.ic.j4mTntFqP1.jpg http://www.themainmtl.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/baseball_expos_griffintown_stadium1-960x682.jpg Expos were in basically the same situation the Rays are in now. Lousy stadium in a bad location.
  7. What can they do? No one seems willing to part with prospects, and we don't really have anyone to trade.
  8. I was trying to figure out who Mastroianni reminded me of, then it hit me: http://msn.foxsports.com/content/dam/fsdigital/RSN/North/2014/04/10/PI-MLB-Darin-Mastroianni-041014.jpg http://suturi.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Shia-LaBeouf-Comic-Book-Artist.jpg
  9. The Jays have seen enough injuries as it is. I think it all balances out.
  10. They at least shake things up every now and then in the dunk contest, and it's also more about personal expression. The derby is all about skill, but I just find it really boring to watch. In terms of skills contest, the NBA shootout is pretty underrated. And yet, with the right shooter, it can be thrilling:
  11. The Jays swept the A's earlier this season, yeah?
  12. I don't like the idea of having to rebuild, but if the team is going to be losing anyway, you might as well do it with a younger team with potential to get better. Also, grass in the dome will be something to look forward to, assuming they can get it done.
  13. Yankees lost today. Orioles are losing as I type this, and so are the Red Sox. The Jays have actually been pretty lucky that these teams lose when they lose (or in today's case, win).
  14. At least the Orioles and Yankees can beat up on each other right before the ASB. But I'm only now realizing just how much Lawrie being out hurts us. With Bautista coming back, we don't have to worry about Gose's bat, but there's still Kawasaki and Francisco. AA really should have signed a second baseman over the off season.
  15. The team has been getting some breaks lately with the other teams in the division losing.
  16. I wouldn't be disappointed if they decide to go after another starter, but right now it's our offence that is letting the team down. We're not being blown out of too many games, and a lot of the games we're losing are winnable. But look at today's lineup (vomit):
  17. This makes me feel so old that you had to look him up. But, yes, he was never the handsomest guy. He always looked twenty years older than he actually was.
  18. You may have missed the "and .jpeg" in the thread's title.
  19. What a creepy looking kid. He looks like a monkey. His head looks too big for his body.
  20. I see Sportsnet is still trying to go for the "you are there" experience by filming fan reactions. "Lind gets a hit" http://i.imgur.com/rUgiHMb.gif I don't want to see that s***. Stop showing us canned reactions and just film that game.
  21. When I look at Navarro, I always think he looks like he was born in the wrong decade. He has the face of the kind of guy would star in a old fashioned black and white horror movie. http://www.usatodaysportsimages.com/image/thumb/250-225/7860054.jpg "I just saw a gu-gu-gu-gu-ghost!".
  22. But is he wrong? Wilner gets a lot of flak, but look at the callers he often has to deal with. No matter what the situation is, there's always someone who has to panic, and think the sky is falling. Correctly pointing out the team would still be in first doesn't make him a dumbass.
  23. I don't know why American fans do that. Especially when there are American players on both sides and the starter for the Yankees is Japanese.
