  1. We are all staying on the Brenden Kalfus train! Unlike like many Blue Jays fan who have a new favorite every couple of days, a bunch of us look at the numbers, the awards, the trend and the mental make-up. Most of the people here would have traded away Mickey Mantle after he struggled early in his career and almost left the game.
  2. You didn't fix anything. You just made up things-again. You probably never went to college on a scholarship, never became an all-american, never graduated college with honors, never got drafted by an MLB team and probably never had much success. Our young players are filled with talent and some represent us both on and off the field. You can look up the facts or continue to throw stones at those who succeed far beyond what you and most people are capable of.
  3. I still miss reading about Brenden Kalfus from the 2013 draft class. We look to see him in Vancouver. It seems like most of the college players aren't well thought of by the blue jays (unlike the Cardinals organization who promomte and favor college athletes.
  4. Is everyone impressed with how our minor league outfielders are doing? Looking forward to Vancouver to begin its season and see what the team looks like. I found a new place to write and share about our favorite Blue Jays players/prospects. There are a lot of fans who are passionate about our team and about some of our favorite players. Happy Easter everyone.
  5. Lets hope the force is strong with Maicer Izturis and he isn't out for the rest of the season needing surgery on his knee. He was hitting and fielding great for us and this is year 2 of his 3 year contract. Who in our system will replace him?
  6. I don't think its right to spread rumors about anyone, especially about fans that you probably don't even know. He is a popular player. I have been to sold-out Canadian games and saw with my own eyes. Have you? I also doubt that 3 people alone viewed this fan started thread over 47,000 times. Spreading rumors is simply wrong! I hope he becomes a great player as well as some of our other young players. Every single player drafted (with few exceptions) is a great athlete or else they would not have been drafted! I support our players especially those that graduated college on scholarship. They are good role models for our younger players in Vancouver and all of Canada.
  7. We need to have those with experience guide those who haven't been there yet. Every great player has mentors. Maybe the Jays should take your advice to help us more with our young prospects. Trout had Tori Hunter and now has Albert Puljos to mentor him. We need the same for our prospects. Kal seems like he listens and adjusts. He looks to have a very high ceiling. Go Kal.
  8. Brenden Kalfus from the 2013 draft class is a solid hitter. He switch hits and has speed, strong arm with accuracy and a great glove glove. I think Kal has a much higher ceiling than Kenny Wilson.
  9. You are right. This is why the Jays have to develop their younger players and keep them if they are going to compete year after year.
  10. You are right that being consistent matters. Teams want to know what kind of production they will get and like you said they will pay for that.
  11. Our farm system has some talented position players and pitchers. We just need to developed them. I have been following Brenden Kalfus who was drafted in 2013 out of college. Solid tools. He and others can form a solid core for our future.
  12. Thank you SpeedyGose. And no, I won't be starting my own blog. I have been following a player, Brenden Kalfus, who was drafted by the Blue Jays in 2013 and looks to be an exceptional hitter. Someone started a thread on him after the June draft called The Official King Kalfus Thread. He won the west coast conference division 1 college batting title along with several other athletic and academic awards and hits from both sides of the plate. I saw that a friend of his is Patrick Wisdom, a 1st rounder for the Cardinals. I don't give Klaw or others like him much credibility when it comes to predicting how great a player is to become. No person can know that. Historically, what matters most is the players will to win, their ability to adjust and their will to work on their weaknesses and make them their strengths. I see both Kalfus and Wisdom as having long careers in the MLB regardless of what Klaw or others think.
  13. I don't Think Klaw knows. He can't measure a players heart and will to win and ability to adjust.
  14. I totally agree with you. He is an elite hitter regardless of his age.
