  1. I'll believe it when I see it. Has a future elite player ever been treated this like? I don't mean held back for service time reasons, that happens a lot, but held back even after the service time limit has passed? Seriously guys, he's yours for 2025. That was the whole point of this. Bring his ass to Oakland and play him on the big league team already.
  2. Khris Davis got a good deal. The market hates two things: players in their 30's and DH's. He's both. Smart of him to take the deal now. An extra year would have been better, but AAV wise he did well. Ten years ago he would have fared better but the market has changed too much.
  3. Yeah seriously, Vlad is one of the only reasons to watch the Jays this year. They got that extra year of control now, so just call him up as long as he's healthy. Waiting until a home game is such a pointless reason. Just call him up for the Oakland series, and spend all weekend hyping up that Tuesday would be his first home game. The unnecessary waiting is so stupid. DH him for a few of those games. Who cares. As long as he's up and in the lineup.
  4. Once again Samad Taylor sits so the suckage that is Logan Warmoth could start. I know he's a former 1st round pick and all but the guy is straight up ass as a hitter, and likely isn't good enough defensively to overlook that. Can't wait until he's flipped for some equivalent of 2018 Aledmys Diaz and we can all move on. The way Tercet feels about half the players in the Jays system is how I feel about Warmoth.
  5. There was nothing wrong with Anderson's "bat flip" (or toss). The game is already losing the young demo. They need more Anderson's, not more Grichuk's. It's one of the reasons why I have no issues with Stroman and wouldn't mind him extended. If Stro were in the NBA or NFL, and was as good in those sports as he is in baseball, then he'd be a mainstream star. His personality works today, even if it annoys some. He just happens to play a sport that wants its players to hold back their personality and isn't as mainstream. I have to watch "play the game the right way" as one of the team's vetrin's for the next 5 years? Ugh. Whatever. Hopefully Vlad's personality takes over.
  6. It's pretty much a given that the Jays will use openers this season, possibly a lot. Just depends on when. Injuries and ineffectiveness from their starters will speed up the process.
  7. I know I'm supposed to like Grichuk because he's a Jay, but if he's a Brian McCann "play the game the right way" type, then screw him. Keep pimping the homers, Tim.
  8. Pannone faced a batter last night, because LOOGY, but he'll probably be needed for 2-3 innings tonight. Can't wait for the 3 batter minimum.
  9. No command and hard hits allowed. Damn, I'm rooting for Thornton just because of the Keith Law stuff. Don't let that smug douchebag feel good about himself.
  10. I don't think much of DSJ, but Brito is not even on DSJ's level. Let's get serious here. You can say he's overachieving or a replacement level talent, but don't insult the dude by comparing him to Brito.
  11. Yes, unlike Brito and Hansen, you can dream on Teoscar's potential. If everything clicks for him he could turn into a decent big leaguer, but it would have to be everything clicking (2018 stat cast numbers + 2019 SSS plate discipline + average ish defence rolled into one). Or just make him the DH and let him focus on hitting and base running. I'd be fine with that too.
  12. Tucker's BB and K rates are not that bad, and he has a really low BABIP. Alford has a 41% K % (.313 BABIP). It's a SSS so he could definitely turn it around, but not the same as Tucker. Alford's K rates have spiked huge in AAA compared to AA.
  13. Yeah I'm still believing in Alford, but his start in AAA this year (the K's in particular) is not good. He'd be eaten alive in the bigs. Hopefully it's just a bad start.
  14. I thought Morales was $1m and DSJ was $500k?
  15. I like Shatkins, but never, ever trade with Brian Cashman again.
  16. Charlie Buntoyo. Don't even care if he called that bunt or not, it's part of his DNA.
  17. Sadly he's probably better than every OF currently in the Jays org other than Grichuk. That says more about how bad the Jays are in the outfield than how good DSJ is, but still.
  18. Why are they so stuck on him being an infielder when the OF situation in the Majors and minors is s***? At this point try him at CF or LF and see what happens. He’s clearly not an infielder.
  19. Yeah that s*** is in his head. Might need to get him off 2B.
  20. Yes but who other than Vlad should be up right now? Vlad will be up soon, he was hurt and they wanted to manipulate service time so it's only a matter of time. I think Biggio and Alford should be up in a few months. Bo isn't hitting yet. Jansen's up. Not sure what to make of Tellez or Gurriel, but Shatkins seems to like both and they are up. We are getting closer to seeing real prospects up and down the lineup rather than the shot in the dark types. The first few months of this year will be trash because it's basically praying one of Teoscar, McKinney, Drury, Brito, etc, actually turn into something useful, and all of them suck right now (Teoscar showing improvement with plate discipline though).
  21. If the Jays can hit a little bit, then these losses (and there will be a lot of them) will at least be entertaining. Put up a good fight against a vastly superior team in a game they had no business being in. Rebuilding sucks, but these are the lumps you take.
  22. Javy Guerra pitching like Javy Guerra again. It was a good two weeks.
  23. That was a borderline pitch on 3-1. Should have been called a ball, but caught a tiny bit of the plate. Surprised Maile didn't swing on the 3-2 pitch though.
  24. Cash challenges up 8 against a rule 5 pick, but Montoyo doesn't down 2 with a runner on 2nd and 2 out. That job interview by Montoyo must have been amazing.
  25. Why do we have such stupid base runners?????
