  1. You're wrong by a lot. Kansas City has that honor. Yanks pen is 10th, behind Toronto, plus the Yankees bullpen is 3rd most overused, behind KC and TB.
  2. Too bad most of the Sox pitching staff still hasn't broken that yet. And it's still possible Bradley cools down.. he's hitting with an unsustainable .387 BABIP. At minimum, he's a .250-.260 hitter in the majors with modest power and elite D.
  3. That and the Yanks want to preserve Severino for the postseason, if they make it to the ALDS.
  4. Which likely means Warren and/or Mitchell will likely be piggy-backed with Sabathia and Severino in their starts, with Sabathia being garbage and Severino on an innings limit.
  5. So basically, based on my last message, all the Yanks have in their bullpen that Girardi trusts are Shreve (rarely), Wilson, Betances and Miller. The umpteen million bullpen arms the Yanks have right now basically are used in mop up duty. Basically, 4 relievers and a bunch of mop-up men, including Capuano.
  6. And now Warren is leaving the pen for the rotation because of a lack of depth. And also, Tex is looking like he will miss the rest of the season, and is even uncertain for the playoffs..
  7. What's more concerning with the Yankees is Girardi's bullpen usage. Wilson/Betances/Miller have been used 4 of their 5 games (with Betances going 20+ pitches back-to-back.) You can't sustain this indefinitely.. they're going to be burned out by the postseason. And of course, Girardi has no trust in anyone else in the bullpen, with only rare occasions of Warren and Shreve.
  8. Please bear in mind this schedule is not final. It will be adjusted.
  9. It could lead to some innings issues on Severino/Pineda/Tanaka. Pineda is already struggling as is.. and Severino is closing in on his innings limits, which will likely mean a lot of short outings of 5 innings or less from here on out to preserve him for the postseason. And of course, what are they going to get from Sabathia? Plus, the Yanks need distance from their starters.. can't keep going to Wilson/Betances/Miller every game. They'll be burned out by October, at the rate Girardi uses them. In fact, Betances and Miller may be starting to show signs of wear, based on today's Yanks/O's game (which the Yanks won because of the O's incompetence.) BTW, Capuano is back with the Yanks (again).
  10. Well, there goes Francis' chance of making the postseason roster.
  11. Bases loaded.. hopefully someone can hit off of Betances.
  12. Anyone remember when JBJ used to be hated by Sox ownership when Cherington was GM? Well, Dombrowski loves him, and boy has he blossomed! Another hit. 9-2 Sox..
  13. Either that or the O's pitching is absolute garbage..
  14. At least Porcello might be out of the game after this, as he's thrown 100 pitches.
  15. Man, the Sox have been running wild on us today.. even with our defense, they've gotten a lot of infield singles.
  16. With REALLY crappy OF defense. He'll be better when he returns to the big leagues.
  17. Red Sox lineup
  18. If it's tied, tiebreaker game for the division. (either NY or Toronto, depending how it ends) And as it stands right now, winner goes to the ALDS, the other plays the wild card game against Texas, LA or Minnesota. Here's the official jargon by MLB: "If one game is needed to break a tie for a playoff berth between two teams, it will be played on the Monday after the scheduled end to the regular season, hosted by the team that won the season series against the other. That applies to determining a division championship whether or not the losing team would still qualify as a Wild Card." Basically, tiebreak's at the Rogers Centre as it stands, as the Jays have an 8-4 advantage in the tiebreak.
  19. He doesn't need to be concerned--Yanks are almost destined for the wild card game, likely to be at Yankee Stadium(Yanks have a 5 game lead over Texas for the 1st wild card.)
  20. Porcello/Buehrle, Owens/Dickey, Kelly/Hutchison.
  21. Mostly against a sliding Mets team and a bunch of non-contenders. They couldn't beat the Yankees, and we have a winning record vs. the Sox. And HanRam is hurt, as is Sandoval, and Ortiz is questionable for tomorrow.
  22. According to some of the MASN people and that Orioles Hangout board, especially Rick Dempsey, the Orioles just don't care anymore and are basically ignoring Showalter.. it's like they've been taking advice from Shea Hillenbrand. What's your bet some firings occur after this season, including possibly Showalter himself?
