  1. Double-steal for Pentecost and Urena!
  2. Here comes K-Rod--he's still in the league?
  3. Yet unlike Terrance Gore, a similar guy, he hasn't been able to earn a callup..
  4. Probably had a few drinks before the game.. especially considering regulars aren't playing much today this early.
  5. Dwight Smith Jr. actually.. Grichuk's out of the game.
  6. Liriano to the Tigers for 1/$4M (+ incentives).
  7. Confusing.. it's like Bloom and Neander have no clue what they're doing. Where's Andrew Friedman when they need him? Oh right.. the Rays are too cheap.
  8. Pirates add a big bat that's cheap to replace McCutchen, Rays get a bullpen arm that needs a fresh start plus a infield prospect that's far away:
  9. Rays top pitching prospect Brent Honeywell left with a trainer saying foul language--serious elbow injury? UPDATE: Forearm strain. What's your bet he needs Tommy John Surgery?
  10. Former enemy of the Blue Jays in the ALCS 2 years ago facing tough odds of making the Indians roster--should the Jays take a chance on Merritt if he gets DFAed? http://www.cleveland.com/tribe/index.ssf/2018/02/cleveland_indians_ryan_merritt_8.html
  11. Let's remember Grandy is only here until Hernandez or Alford barges down the door for a starting job in Toronto--Gomez is only in Tampa because the Rays didn't want to pay future arb raises for Steven Souza Jr.
  12. Carlos Gomez to the Rays on a 1 year deal. Seriously, Tampa? Why didn't you just keep Souza? Also, Mauricio Cabrera cleared waivers and stays in Atlanta--not even triple digit heat interested anyone.
  13. Cardinals?
  14. It's an Expos-style fire sale in Tampa! Everybody must go! Next up, it'll be Archer, Colome, Kiermaier.. when does the league take over and move this team, like what happened in Montreal?
  15. JDM's value is destroyed by his glove, especially if he ends up having to play some OF if there's an injury to Betts/Bradley/Benintendi.
  16. Former Red Sox OF prospect Bryce Brentz traded to the Pirates for money (well, they had to pay for JDM's contract somehow!).
  17. Dyson--he can actually play defense, JDM cannot. Plus, Dyson, when he gets on base, can wreak havoc on the basepaths..
  18. Tigers as well--their bullpen is a dumpster fire right now.
  19. Won't matter anyway for Toronto--some lesser team will likely claim him quickly.
  20. Mauricio Cabrera and his triple-digit fastball DFA'ed for Moylan.. someone's gonna take a flier on him. Should the Jays take a shot if he's available?
  21. Yes, because their window closes after 2019, as they stand to lose most of their rotation as Sale, Pomeranz and Porcello will be gone unless Boston wants to overpay and pay ridiculous luxury taxes by then. In addition, they'll also lose Bogaerts to free agency along with HanRam, Nunez.. and Betts will be making Mike Trout money, leaving Boston with little flexibility.
  22. The bigger question--will he stay healthy a full season? He's only had one healthy season (2015).
  23. This JD Martinez deal should've been done 3 months ago, not right at training camp.. With the deal, Sox payroll now stands at $230M on a CBT basis IIRC.. Sox are going to pay a fair amount of tax, but they don't have a choice, as they face serious problems in 2 years, when Sale, Bogaerts, Porcello hit free agency, plus this offseason, HanRam, Pomeranz and Kimbrel also hit free agency and it's not certain Boston will keep raising payroll after this season, considering the luxury tax..
  24. Which is bad news for the Orioles, who were eyeing Dyson.. but they're too busy trying to add mediocre pitchers to fill a weak rotation.
  25. Selling off everyone and anyone and f***ing up the free agent/trade market even more.. while JD Martinez, Arrietta, Hosmer, Moustakas, Lynn and Cobb are still jobless. And the Rays are in a Expos-style selloff, selling off anyone making money.. right now, the projected Opening Day lineup is a steaming pile.. looking like a 90-loss team (and that might be low). Next up on the selloff, Chris Archer, Kevin Kiermaier, Steven Souza, DJ Kitty...
