  1. They will start to lose trade value after this deadline due to contract length, but will get a good return even next season at the break. I wonder if AA is considering trading one for a pitcher, similar to the Lester/Cespedes deal. With Donaldson they don't really need both.
  2. Another poor start tomorrow and it will likely happen.
  3. Gibbons is likely arguing hard for Sanchez to be moved to the pen, AA considering it and maybe thinking about stretching out Osuna.
  4. If you told me Norris has thrown 78 pitches through 3 and the score was 4-0, I would assume the Jays have all but lost the game.
  5. It's not like he told them to go for competitive walks.
  6. This rotation has been painful to watch at times, No bright spots so far.
  7. I wouldn't trade Hoffman for Hamels straight up, I would rather acquire papelbon for mostly cash. Hoffman could be in the rotation by next year and they can also get an ace in the offseason, since no one else needs to be paid.
  8. I don't think Gibbons has ever wanted Sanchez to start.
  9. Should have done that, Had to hear ".151 in the post season" 3 times.
  10. H/9 is useful for looking at a pitchers ceiling. Although there are some exceptions, it's rare for a pitcher with over 9 H/9 to be a frontline starter. usually there is a large overlap between pitchers that limit hits and pitchers with high K%. The same way that a hitter with a high K% usually has a lower BA.
  11. I think Pillar in a corner outfield spot provides more value than Smoak at first or Navarro at DH, But not enough that I would mess with Bautista.
  12. Good call, will help the team and Goins chance of sticking in the majors.
  13. Would still have Martin, EE, Donaldson and Bautista, So it wouldn't be a complete dumpster fire.
  14. I wouldn't be surprised if Showalter told his team not to throw at the Jays, He doesn't want this to escalate.
  15. Anybody else hope Travis sticks batting second. The best choice would be Bautista, but I doubt that happens. Donaldson is a good choice too.
  16. Would be a good defensive replacement as well, Could shift Bautista to DH towards the end of close games.
  17. Not worth the risk, with a weak shoulder he wouldn't hit well anyway.
  18. I hope he learned a lesson, but doubt he did. Rage throws can mess an arm up quick.
  19. Goins is the best choice defensively so I think Gibbons is just being prudent, Offense is good enough without Bautista anyway.
