    I know it used to be a song called Boys 'Round Here by someone named Blake Shelton. Not sure if that's the same now, I haven't been to a game this year.

    These guys remind me of my slo-pitch team. Our team captain and organizer is a huge whiner and it's like it has a contagious effect on the rest of the team. No call is every correct. Close play at first base? We've been robbed. Get thrown out by 8 feet? No way, he got under the tag. Foul out? Wtf ump, the pitch was too low. Queue the angry bat toss and ejection. Then queue the in-fighting and bitching at each other. In the end it may not matter if there's a dearth of leadership in a game like baseball (aside from losing your best player in an ejection), but I will say from personal experience that that type of attitude and environment is not fun to be around.

    Playing sports as a kid, there was always that teammate who would routinely get injured. He'd flop around, grimace in pain, maybe his dad would come out, then he'd be fine 5 minutes later. Reyes is THAT guy.

    I'm trying to get a good look at the blonde left of the state farm sign. She seems bangable but I can't shake the feeling that there's 200 lbs hiding unseen. An iceberg, if you will.

    I loved the fan who called in all serious and said that he would go with Aaron Sanchez as if: 1) Two innings is enough of a justification that he is ready for MLB 2) He'll surpass the effectiveness that Stroman and Beurhle by the end of the season I think if the Jays are going to make the playoffs at all, Stroman is going to have to continue a strong second half anyway. So I would assume he'd be pitching well and he probably has the highest ceiling out of our pitchers for any given game so I would go with him.

    I don't see any issue with Convo here. It's a vent thread. He pointed out that a bunch of players have been statistically sucking for a little while which is true. Those who are acting so vehemently opposed to what was a pretty harmless original post are being pretty big weenies. And who's to say they actually have been playing to their true talent level anyway? Maybe some of them got a little cocky and have been staying out for another beer, or otherwise starting to take things for granted. It probably is just random variance over a small sample, but I don't see how that is unquestionable written gospel. (Insert tired and clichéd "you can't read!" internet response now)

    Couldn't watch the game but just saw highlights too. My immediate reaction was to race to this GDT and find the Tigers 6th inning so that I could see the gradual reaction from Dinkey and his suck-fest to Megatron Loup making it all better. Ahhhh, I love the highs and low of the GDT.

    If they were legitimately cheering for the Rays over the Blue Jays and not just quietly respecting them from afar then the answer is No. I don't think you can be a true fan if your allegiance is in multiple places. Also that fits in nicely with the definition of a "fanatic". When a friend or acquaintance rips the Jays or Leafs constantly and seem to genuinely hate the team in bad times, I will always decree that YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CHEER FOR THEM WHEN THEY INEVITABLY WIN ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP, and then I make note to slash their tires the night before the big game so that they're stuck at home.

    I'm coming from Mississauga and it definitely affects whether I want to go to a game or not. My work is near one of the western subway stops so my best bet is to take that in after work. But I loathe the subway nearly as much as driving downtown so pick your poison.

    Yeah, it has to be Joe Carter. Henderson drawing a walk. Devo flying out. Molitor with a nice hard single up the middle. I remember off the bat I didn't think Carter's hit was going to be anything close to a homerun, so I was a little bit shocked while my dad and I were jumping up and down. I have to say Dave Winfield's 2-run double the year before in extra innings of game six to make it 4-2 was also great moment. At that point it really started to sink in that we were going to win. Ok, the Braves came back from a 1-run deficit earlier, but were they really going to come back from 4-2? And of course they did make it close. Alomar's homerun against oakland was also great, as was that whole game. I remember Jack Morris sucked ass and put us in a big hole that game, but they battled back well.

    Just saw the highlight, wtf Reyes? Where did that throw come from. Damn, what a way to lose. Waste of another good effort by Edwin and a few others. At least you know things are going well overall when you check the box score and you're genuinely shocked to see they've lost.

    I am both elated and frustrated right now. Elated that they just won, but my internet is soo sooo s*** where I am right now that I can't stream the game or even watch the highlights on mlb... ommmgggg I want to seeeeeeee
