  1. Yep, I would. Unless injuries or something along those lines happen *knock on wood* it doesn't, he shouldn't be in the rotation come playoff time. I hate buying into this but with how extreme his home splits have been you can't have Estrada over Hutch at home. While I know you may be concerned on Stroman, and it is fair, if he shows he's "got it" again through the minors and majors then he is more than capable of taking over that spot from Estrada. The only pitcher I could see Estrada taking over is Dickey and that is in part to having Thole in the lineup. If it comes to "crunch" time in a series he may get the nod so not to take Martin's bat and head out of the lineup. He's been turrble when catching Dickey.
  2. Thanks for all of these updates / pics King! You da real MVP.
  3. @ArdenZwelling Stroman's especially excited about his changeup; he's been working hard on it in Dunedin. That gives him six pitches btw. #BlueJays @ArdenZwelling Just spoke to Stroman; says he'll throw all six of his pitches tonight; all feel good. He'll pitch with a carbon fibre knee brace. #BlueJays @ArdenZwelling After outing tonight, Stroman will throw a bullpen in Toronto on Friday. Start for Buffalo on Monday. Then officially rejoin the #BlueJays. from: http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/follow-live-marcus-stroman-makes-rehab-start-for-lansing/ & this article: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/marcus-stromans-absurd-set-of-pitch-comps/ & this will be us once he starts: http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa22/speeder2007/girls/randy_marsh.jpg
  4. No, apparently the called him to ask but couldn't understand if he said "yes" or "no". *badum tish*
  5. Pft. You aint da bawse of me! but good point lol! I forget about that. His xFIP- is even worse here in the AL at 121 compared to 114 last year with the Brewers. Seriously, the Jays doctors must have shoved a horseshoe up Estrada's butt to start this season. They need to find another one and call Drew into the office.
  6. Speaking of that article, any idea when it may be up? People are already on the other side of the "sign him" fence and we need to prove them otherwise dammit! BTW, how is the wife? Hope she is recovering well.
  7. With Shapiro coming abroad he'll likely not extend him a deal. I could see a potential QO assuming Estrada won't take it, which he may not and try to ride out this offseason for a large contract. The reason the Jays shouldn't want him back is his peripherals are bad and getting worse over the years. His xFIP has declined each of the past 3 years: 2013 - 3.63 2014 - 4.19 2015 - 4.83 His K/9 has also decreased while his BB/9 has increased over that time as well. 2013 - K/9: 8.30 & BB/9: 2.04 2014 - K/9: 7.59 & BB/9: 2.63 2015 - K/9: 6.77 & BB/9: 2.78 What has made him successful this year is his HR/FB rate is far lower than his career average (11.1%) at 7.9%. Previous to this year his HR/FB rate was increasing from 10.3%, 10.5%, 11.9% and 13.2% each year. Estrada has gotten very lucky this season and while looking back he was a good buy low candidate last year, this year you're buying him very high and a team will likely regret it. Hope its not the Jays.
  8. TRM. He's a rock star now. Does what he wants when he wants. He knows the fans (us) need him. It's all gone to his head now.
  9. True enough and I agree. I was just more impressed by his speed noted.
  10. Didn't see this posted but statcast broke down Pompey's 2 steals: http://m.mlb.com/video/v440044783/cletor-pompey-averages-21-mph-on-two-stolen-bases/?game_pk=415619 dang, kid has a great 1st step and runs fast! Also on that second steal, the one Gomes didn't throw at, was a bs strike call on Pillar. Either Gomes is the greatest framer ever or that ump was hanging out drinking with Buck before the game.
  11. Looked up Dave Stewart's stat after looking at the 93 team. While a terrible GM, Dave Stewart was an absolute monster in his prime. 4 seasons of 250+ IP, 5 of 225+ IP, 4 consecutive 3+ WAR seasons. Dang.
  12. This. I'd have a lot more fun speculating on what would have happened if we had Nola, Bryant, Synd, Gallo and Turner. Dammit AA, build a time machine and go back and fix this!
  13. Hey guys what about that Saunders guy?
  14. Why? Martin may be the better overall catcher but its not a night and day difference like him and Navarro. Gomes is more than a capable hitter and a excellent framer at a better contract. I like Martin but if I had to choose between the two, it'd be Gomes. Now if Gomes had the same contract, then yeah, probably Martin.
  15. Travis has hair and gets fancy smanchy hair cuts. Goins can cut his own hair. Saving costs on da barber for the team. Duh! / yes terrible sarcasm /
  16. Ryan Goins, 87 wRC+, 9.2 BB%, 1.2 WAR. Is this the real life?
  17. http://www.quickmeme.com/img/ba/baa55df03342db29aea486974e8f6c3cb7322e6b859863a2f3e29388450e85a8.jpg
  18. Dang, Gomes really hates us for trading him.
