I actually like this a lot more than Penny. Wouldn't be too upset if the Jays could retain him as depth next year in the minors.

Considering his two previous seasons were -.6 and .3, its a large improvement. Right! It makes me hate them but appreciate what they do at the same time. Well played Rays. Well played.

On a side note, its pretty crazy how far this guys career has fallen. He's having a productive season overall at 1.2 WAR but a far cry from his 3-4 WAR days. Atlanta bought him at his peak! I thought the Rays were dumb for not keeping him but they've shut me up.

I blame AA. If he had kept Reyes this wouldn't have happened. Reyes would have been too lazy to get that fly ball. /sarcasm/

With all the argument with Smoak (Team SMOAK!!) vs Bello it is pretty funny how often Smoak and Bello go back to back HRs on the days they shift. HR by Smoak in Boston 1st game, nothing in 2nd, then Bello HR in 3rd game. Now Smoak HR in NY game. This has happened a few times through the season. I know we argue who should be playing where but the mix of Bello/Smoak at 1B has provided great offense. Totaling 29 HR & 98 RBI. They are like the 4th head of the Donaldson/Bautista/Eddy 30+ HR, 100+ RBI power.

We'll just have to disagree. Hopefully the Jays win it all, only think I care about.

I am hoping that the M's go crazy and give AA a offer he can't refuse or one Rogers won't pony up for. I do think AA has made a lot of great moves but some of them were a result of fixing his own mistakes. - Tulo trade was great, but he should have never gotten Reyes in part of that Miami deal or traded Escobar. He gave up a lot of talent including Hech who is pushing 3 WAR defensive wiz short stop this season. - Martin signing is awesome... but wouldn't have been needed if he kept Gomes. You can say no one could have predicted Gomes' breakout but it was poor scouting / info on his part not to know how good of a defensive catcher he was and trading him for a reviler in Rogers when your main catcher was JPA that season - Dickey trade was one of the worst - Loosing Valencia for nothing was also terrible asset management. Locker room cancer? Fine say what ever BS Rogers media wants to report but he knew that then had more than enough time to get something back. The two trades I look positively at are Travis for Gose and Donaldson. He made good ones in the past too with Lawrie, Rasmus and getting rid of Wells contract. However the overall value the two bring opposed to what he gave up doesn't really work.

He, like many fans, only look at "what have you done lately". Not sure if its the innate human desire to see someone succeed or stupidity.

Awe yeah! Avalanche traded Elliott for Gormley!!! Great trade. Worst case, nothing happens and he is out of the league but Elliott was already at that point. .. now I'll just go hide in the corner away from all these Leafs talk.

Indeed. He'd be 2nd best player on this team behind JD not to mention he'd be excellent in this lineup being a LHH. I want to say "Yes" but the only real blow out I can remember from a Jay recently is Lawrie and that was long ago.
