  1. http://26.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m0hryrATkN1r7bma7o1_400.gif Also, f*** the Nats. I forgot they had Giolito. Picked him right before our pick, which ended up being Davis.
  2. What about the trade makes it a wash for you?
  3. While I don't know if the clubhouse "drama" had anything to due with how much the Jays wanted him back or effected their offer, I am happy to see him gone and replaced by Saunders. Completely agree. Trivial! So, uh, you coming to my party this weekend King? If you don't, I'll block you! We still have a white dude on the team from last year?
  4. Love that he starts walking off the field before its even called a strike. Like, "Yeah, I got this."
  5. I am going to miss Colby. All the drama with his family, strike outs, changes in his batting stance, ... oh wait, no I am not. f*** Colby and his dad. The turf effected his play/offense as much as social media destroyed Arencibia's career.
  6. I found this hard, but not impossible to fap to.
  7. That is a solid signing and good deal for the Astros. Hell if Colby does well enough and the team is out of the playoff race they could flip him for another asset at the deadline. I also glad the O's missed out on getting him.
  8. Me too! It was JFaS that pointed it out.
  9. Where is the obligatory DJ Davis throw-in to seal the deal?
  10. There is nothing wrong with the mindset of the Jays targeting another starting pitcher, its just who they targeting that is the issue. They Jays should have really gone after a pitcher like Francisco Liriano. Adds that depth without hurting the team on a long term contract. Going after a James Shields at his age and salary demands respective to where the Jays are currently at and where they will be in the future, is a bad idea. Either case, this is just like the Ichiro news. Just throwing the Jays name for the sake of having a name.
  11. They've given up 2 top 50 prospects, a good chunk of their farm at the time of the Marlins trade, and inherited contracts that pushed the team in the top 10-15 in MLB of payroll. Just because they haven't spent crazy on a UFA doesn't mean they haven't gone half-assed "all-in". Truthfully the team gave up too much and for the wrong people. They did a dumb-ass "all-in".
  12. I think they made good moves. I wouldn't have signed Markakis and while Nelson Cruz would have been nice can see them being weary of giving a long term contract to someone who is on the wrong side of 30. However I think they've missed a few opportunities in signing Aoki and potentially making trades to upgrade their starting pitching. Either way, alienating your ball club and your GM on a position he doesn't want to be in, doesn't bold well to attract talent on all levels in the future.
  13. What a gong show of a franchise that is.
  14. Fair enough. Me too! Think the Giants got a decent deal on him. Projected at 1.5 WAR for next season and I could see him getting 2 WAR again.
  15. Meh? Technically he isn't wrong. Aoki would have been depth on this team as we've already got a outfield of Saunders, Pompey, Bautista with backups in Dirks and Pillar. Aoki wouldn't be a regular....but then again, technically this team is already paying $5 for depth in C with Navarro and they could have been on Aoki before the Saunders deal. Either way, its Mike Wilner. He's best left to the casual fan.
  16. The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
  17. Not from a movie. Its real. Bucket-wheel Excavator: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cocg1u0nwbI E: Damn you deadpool! *shakes fist*
  18. Man, this is how I imagine them now..
  19. Yes! Said it in the Ichiro thread, but if they were looking for a backup OF Dirks would be best. Could even mean we may not see Pillar as much! I am loving AA this offseason.
  20. We also need to add PTBNL. Thus allowing O's to also get one of, Hoffman or Pentecost 6 months from now. Just to be fair and all.
  21. While not a sinker or change up, there is a decent article on Hutch's slider: http://www.bluebirdbanter.com/2015/1/5/7489853/drew-hutchisons-new-and-improved-slider Excited to see more of Hutch as well as Stroman next year with Martin. Also love Navy's expression when he was catching the sinker in that gif.
  22. While I agree, I have shell shock with Liam. He is unable to keep his pitches low and gives up far too many fly balls. Not a great recipe in our park. Were we designed like the A's park, then he might be half decent. Its so bad there were jokes about Bautista selecting Liam as his pitcher for the HR derby.
  23. I am hoping its Kyle Drabek or Liam Hendricks.
  24. Something could still happen. If not in the offseason something could happen during the regular season. Navarro can still fetch something if a catcher for another team goes down or the value for a hitting catcher gets high during the trade deadline. The Blue Jays, while ideally would like to move him in the offseason, still are in a good position with holding him as well. Worst comes to worst the Jays spent $5M, which may have not been utilized for another player anyways, on a expensive bench bat.
  25. One of the few times I am glad there is a 5 year limit on contracts handed out. Zaun is fine for the "old school" stuff and how he shows things from a catchers perspective, but for the other 80% of the time...
