  1. I love Matrin but it's dumb to have him at 2nd. Donaldson should be 2nd and Martin 5th.
  2. I miss the Os broadcast team.
  3. Didn't miss it, but misinterpreted it. My bad! Not sure how much I can blame Gibby on being forced to play a player that should have been gone by now. That is on AA, not him.
  4. Gibbons says a lot of s*** to the media. What do you expect him to say for a player he wants gone? "He's a sack of fat that can't frame, call games or run and he's all yours for $5 Million folks!" If the Jays are stuck with Navarro might as well option Thole to the minors. Martin can catch Dicky and then once Navarro is gone bring Thole back up to catch Dicky to give Martin his break/off-days. I fear that a Navarro trade won't happen at this point.
  5. This is true. I figured it may be worthwhile to hold on to Navarro because I can see Arizona getting desperate down the road. Thinking on it further you're right, if we can move Navarro and have the Phillies eat his contract AA should do it. I'd hope he calls Stewart and see if he ups the ante before pulling the trigger but yea, no-brainer otherwise.
  6. I would be opposed normally but if it means that Castro will be left alone in the minors then go for it. I'd rather have a monetary mistake for 2 years than potentially ruin a player whom could help us for 5+ years. Now if only Navarro could be traded to Arizona for another reviler..
  7. The Atlanta logo on their hats look like a rejected "@" sign.
  8. The dude can't even throw the ball back to the pitcher, how do they expect him to throw it at home plate? Either case, common Stewart trade for Navarro! Evan Marshall isn't that important to you.
  9. I don't know why, but this actually blew my mind. What do we dub Castro when he comes out now? "Stro Show" is taken and "Cas Show" just sucks balls.
  10. Pft, StroChez. More like, NorMan (Norris + Hoffman).. Okay, that doesn't work. We'll stick with StroChez. Norris needs a buddy too lol.
  11. I am wondering, how much has Hendricks pitched this spring training? I swore he was up a few times but cannot recall specifically. Anyone know?
  12. Clearly Sanchez read this forum and got his s*** together. Now develop that consistent 3rd/4th pitches to really shut us up Sanczhy.
  13. His walk rate (10%) and strikeout rate (17%) were all better than average last year in the minors. Even if you expect a jump in his strikeout rate of lets say 10% more at 27%, that is better than Rasmus and on par with Gose. I don't see that large of a K spike and neither do any other projections (worst is ZiPS at 24.4%). Saunders is projected to strike out just as much if not a little more than Pompey. I am sure there will be growing pains but I don't see strikeouts being as big of a concern. He may not bat second and that is fine. He should excel on the no. 9 spot and sets up well with the top of the order ahead of him.
  14. Pft, 18 spring training innings is all you need JFaS. Let me give you a little lesson on extrapolation: http://bish.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/extrapolation.png Really, we can expect Castro and Osuna to provide 0 ERA over the season. /terrible sarcasm/
  15. Yep, the Valencia/Smoak platoon at 1st is the ideal situation. Could hopefully provide 1 maybe 2 WAR combined at the position.
  16. Low? I think we sold on him high. While I am sure the A's have scouted him in the past, I am confident that his call-up helped rise his stock and put him on the radar as a trade chip.
  17. Smoak has really picked it up recently. 1 hit and 2 walks today. Excited and nervous to see how he does this season.
  18. Can the Jays now drop Viciedo? Pillar is a better option for backup OF while Saunders is out and Viciedo brings nothing defensively or offensively.
  19. http://www.troll.me/images2/postfap-randy/postfap-randy.jpg
  20. I think Graveman will be a solid pitcher, better than Nolin. Like most pitchers that pitch in Oakland he will benefit from that ballpark, look like a no. 3 pitcher and be traded again for something nice. Billy Beane has it all worked out!
  21. LOL! To be fair, that is probably how we look as well when Norris is pitching.
