Just different usage rates for the rest of the players. The hardest thing to replace would probably be his ability to get to the free throw line, but Powell has a pretty good mentality in that he drives to the rim a lot.

Powell if no one is brought in would seem like the best in-house replacement, but Ross will likely get a lot of undeserved starts.

I'm not sure on the numbers regarding his spin rate, but Smyly is very similar to Estrada in the way that he goes about pitching. He just happens to get more strikeouts as well.

Well...this is a good start.

14.8% (not including that strikeout), career rate is 7.8%. He's swinging at about the same rate of pitches but making contact ~17 percentage points below career average. He ain't right.

You get that Smyly is good, right? Yeah I'm disappointed that he missed it, but maybe give the pitcher some credit once.

Nice little turnaround after the pair of singles. Especially promising was the K to Longoria mixing it up with the breaking ball.

I love how Goins gets playing time priority even against lefties when Barney has at least not looked useless at the plate this year. f***ing Gibby. Sanchez, like always, is going to need to use the changeup and the curveball effectively. All fastballs won't get it done.
