  1. Sanchez is rattled, he's probably trying to do too much.
  2. This inning has been so unfortunate for Sanchez, he really hasn't done much wrong at all save for the walk to Victor Martinez.
  3. Ump with the royal screwjob, wow.
  4. It doesn't take a lot to V-Mart out there, but Carrera executed that just like we needed him to.
  5. Gotta protect that pitch Russ.
  6. Great hustle EE, but lol @ that slide.
  7. You should stop embarrassing yourself here.
  8. It's a good thing none of these hitters are on the level of Charlie Blackmon.
  9. Goddamn that cutter is some filth.
  10. Sometimes we should be able to thank a post twice.
  11. Pillar should be on third right now, he didn't even take a few steps after Kinsler fired home, pretty lazy on his part.
  12. There you go, let's tack on a few now for the BP.
  13. Happ was at 109 and had been having a pretty stressful inning with lots of max effort pitches. With no lefty in the lineup, this was a good move by Gibby.
  14. It's a smart play with Donaldson coming up.
  15. Obvious "surprise" bunt from Carrera incoming.
  16. What? They're hitting good pitches low and inside, you just tip your cap to those. Happ is doing a great job.
  17. That's a great piece of hitting, Miggy is so good.
  18. Great pitch to tie him up and excellent awareness to get the lead runner out.
  19. This is a really poor statement. Despite the impressive half season, let's not forget that Carrera (as well as Smoak) has been an entirely replacement level player his entire career. Could something have changed? Sure, walks are way up, strikeouts are reasonable, and he's made some good contact this year. However, his defense is at times atrocious - he takes absolutely terrible routes and are often preceded by bad reads off the bat - despite being fast, he's not a particularly elite baserunner, and while I'd love to be wrong he's more than likely not this good of a hitter. Is Smoak any better? No, not really, he has decent potential with the bat but has some of the biggest holes and easily exploitable flaws that I've seen in a Blue Jays hitter. He's only a 1B, a supposedly decent one at that - he is very sure handed - but still doesn't carry that much value. This is not me advocating for Bautista in RF - the guy is clearly done as an outfielder - or completely s***ing on Carrera who has done a great job holding down the fort but to say that the latter is that much preferable to Smoak when in reality they're both rather inconsequential players is a stretch. I put way too many hyphens in this post.
  20. He hasn't played the outfield since 2012 and I don't think he's skilled/athletic enough to expect him to play it at an acceptable level. I guess you can platoon him at first and hope for half a win out of him, but I can't really see someone like Pompey being tangibly worse for a lot cheaper if he's healthy enough to contribute.
  21. Talk about making shortstop look easy.
  22. That f***ing idiot got mad that he didn't get the ball, he needs to be kicked out of the game.
