  1. If you weren't some bandwagon troll, you would know that this was exactly how Davis was with the Blue Jays
  2. Painting at 102. Good luck lol.
  3. I mean he's a big league catcher after all. He made a terrible play earlier but it takes a great amount of skill to catch an Aroldis Chapman fastball when he misses his spot, so I can attribute a lot of that pick to Contreras' skill.
  4. What a pick, that's probably super fluky but damn.
  5. The Brandon Guyer show is back at it again.
  6. Bro that's unfair, he opened with an 85 mph filthy slider.
  7. I don't think there's any chance that Chapman pitches over 2 innings, unless the pitch count is absurdly low. Strop and Rondon will be ready, and they are great options in their own right.
  8. Carl Edward Jr.'s fastball is really explosive out of his hand, it probably looks harder than the 95-96 that shows up on the radar gun.
  9. What the f*** Contreras? That was arguably a strike...
  10. Yeah they would have been better off putting up his attempts per season, which are in the single digits each year. However, as far as left handed pitchers are concerned, not one single successful pickoff in over a year is still a big deal.
  11. Oh yeah, for sure, and it's not even close.
  12. Something weird has been happening with his offense for some time now. When he broke into the league he was an excellent hitter, good in many facets. Then the power just went away completely but he still maintained the high walk rate and decent batted ball contact, and now this year everything just went to s***, although there's probably some element of bad batted ball luck in there.
  13. I appreciate the excitement, but it just seemed a bit too much for a play like that. He also lost it with Heyward's catch earlier which was great and all, but he makes it seem like Willie Mays catching it over his shoulder in Polo Grounds. I feel like he was actually less ecstatic for Bryant's homerun than those two plays lol. Maybe he just really loves good defense.

  15. Jesus, Heyward is just simply lost out there. Baffling.
  16. He was actually around average/slightly above this year. The Cubs told him to start playing deeper and it made a huge difference. He's no Pillar, that much is clear.
  17. I think he throws over like 3 or so times per season. Last successful probably means that it was actually a successful pickoff, i.e. his throw lead to an out being made.
  18. Matt Vasgersian needs to chill. With that said, brilliant play by the defense.
  19. With Davis' speed and two outs, he scores on anything past the infield walking.
  20. Professional curiosity?
  21. Hasn't played, he only got a couple of garbage minutes in game 1. I have no idea why this is the case, it's not like Ross has rediscovered himself or anything.
  22. Lowry was pretty bad today, not a good start to his season thus far. Patterson still can't make a 3. Regardless, it has been an excellent game, unfortunate that we won't be able to end up with the W. Poeltl was great today, shook off his first game jitters and put up an impressive performance in his second game. Derozan struggled early on, taking too many of his patented long 2s, but he really turned it around in the second half. Anyway, the team looks great early on, should be another fun season.
