  1. That honour would go to Justin Smoak. Edit: up until that homer at least lol.
  2. Who says I'm defending the call? I don't agree with this being an illegal quick pitch.
  3. No one should be blaming an umpire for actually enforcing the rules of the game. The question here is whether the call was warranted and the rule was properly applied, not whether the ump is trying to show off to his other ump buddies. Come on o2.
  4. If this is the worst call you've ever seen then you clearly haven't watched a lot of baseball. There's no need to be so reactionary.
  5. Is there any rule that says that your delivery has to be identical every time though? There shouldn't be anything wrong with making your delivery a bit quicker as long as there's no illegal move being performed or stopping in the middle of the windup.
  6. The official ruling is that apparently it was judged to be a quick pitch.
  7. Oh my f***ing god stop running the bases like idiots.
  8. The radio guys are speculating that it was an illegal pitch but no one really has any idea wtf just happened.
  9. Guys I'm listening on the radio and have no idea what the f*** just happened. Anyone?
  10. I agree. But then just having 2 challenges per game based off of the player's intuition on a split-second play isn't really the fix IMO.
  11. Honestly, with how long video replay tends to take, I don't mind the opposing team consulting their video guy for 30 seconds rather than waste 3+ minutes on an inconclusive or clearly bad review. At the end of the day it's about getting the play right, not about shaving a couple of minutes off the game time. Now that we have this tool available, I'd much rather advocate for its use rather than reduce it to a limited number of replays per game, essentially giving bad umps the power to take over a game right back.
  12. How is this Gibbons' fault? He has to wait until the video guy tells the bench whether to challenge or not. If he takes too long that's on him, not the manager.
  13. Holy f*** release Salty. He's not even close.
  14. Danny Espinosa cannot catch up to the fastball.
  15. Well there's way less room in a tennis court.
  16. That's more like the Travis that we're used to.
  17. Well that went exactly as expected.
