That's not exactly what you wanted to see on the first pitch.
He's just way off right now. Clearly looking for a fastball to tie it on the first pitch and swung at an awful curve, then overcompensated waiting for the breaking ball and was completely blown away by the heat, then he was a dead duck after that.
Buck has a point in that technically the ball did leave Betances' hand and he didn't make any weird motions, but I have seen this happen before and it's usually called a balk.
It's a longshot but there's a lot of baseball to be played yet. Hold the deficit for a couple of innings and see if the offense can yet make a game out of this one.
