  1. Just give the ball to JV on offense every time.
  2. Well that was fast. Pretty excited about this, let's hope Biagini can stick.
  3. Gruber mocking aside, Biagini legitimately has a pretty nice arsenal, fit for that of an at worst 4/5th starter type. Like you said, it'll be interesting to see what happens when he's facing the hitters for a second and third time, how the fastball plays when it's some ticks slower, and if that big overhand curve has the same sharpness and soft-contact inducing abilities when hitters start to sit on some of his pitches.
  4. This is what happens when you force your writers to fill a quota of articles per day. You get an article about Seth Smith fluking his way to 4 singles off a terrible pitcher, and then you include Mike Trout in the title because clickbait is annoyingly effective. Fangraphs is generally unreadable in the first couple of months of the season because since they have to publish a minimum of 2-3 articles per day, it's small sample size galore. Tyler White and Ezequiel Carrera are the typical early-season or hot 2-week stint type of articles that are published on a weekly basis.
  5. It's okay, because there's Gary to make sure that 1) happens if 2) fails.
  6. I have no idea who Valdez is, he's likely just someone's replacement in AAA - will Latos make it back there? MLB teams seem to keep trying him out at the highest level despite his continued garbage pitching for unknown reasons (vetrin presents most likely). Hopefully he'll never see the light of day with the MLB club, and if he does it better be as a 2-inning mop up when we're out of relievers and back to the minors type of thing.
  7. Hi, you're responding to a known troll. Please stop.
  8. You're absolutely right. At the same time the rotation is in shambles and the season isn't doing so hot either so you basically have to see what Joe's all about as a starter. As for the bullpen, you hope that a guy like Neil Ramirez pans out and then a couple of fireballers fall into your lap over the course of the season and magically regain the ability to throw quality strikes and focus on keeping the rotation above floating.
  9. It's way too early in the season to be having report cards, but I'd definitely give Biagini at least an A-, and would have no problem putting him at an A+. He has the most innings pitched by a reliever in the Majors and those haven't been run-of-the-mill mop up efforts, as Joe continues to prove that he's an asset out of the bullpen and perhaps making a case for himself to be stretched out in a very worrisome Blue Jays' rotation.
  10. Marcell Ozuna hit a bomb at the Trop last night. I don't think I've ever seen a right handed hitter hit one that far in Tampa, look at where it lands! I have no idea how that is "only" 468 feet. http://m.mlb.com/video/v1349325983/miatb-ozuna-hits-his-longest-homer-in-statcast-era/?affiliateId=clubMEGAMENU
  11. The mods are doing God's work ITT.
  12. Is Zaun trying to blame Tepera for allowing multiple bloop singles? Wut
  13. Gruber thinks Biagini has a better arsenal than Stroman, highlighted by an 82 MPH changeup which really compliments his fastball which has a 13-14 MPH difference. The Blue Jays' luck is absurd. Biagini looked terrific, as did Osuna. Pearce is back. Lol umps Some troll tried to jump in and post an illegible meme, banned within seconds. Spanky and o2 like whiskey.
  14. On the other hand, Martin took that 101 fastball on the arm like a champ.
  15. I think the most impressive part about it, is that being at 82 MPH, it naturally has a 13-14 MPH difference between this 82 MPH changeup and the fastball.
  16. When you're trying to troll but you haven't passed third grade English yet.
  17. Yeah I figured. Sorry to appear hostile, I'm just so f***ing pissed that not one thing went our way in that inning, and it's just built up frustration over the course of this season.
  18. It's like everytime that we have something good going they get completely s*** on. 4 runs in the first, suddenly our best starter (arguably, nothing against Estrada) doesn't have any command and is feeling discomfort, gets rocked. Biagini is absolutely cruising through the Yankees' lineup, then Giardi gets tossed, the zone flips 90 degrees to their side and it's broken bat single after broken bat single. Disgusting, I'm not even mad at the team's performance.
  19. Hah, now the ump has completely turned the corner to the other side. Lovely
  20. What are these so called "facts" that you're trying to use here?
  21. I'd say this entire sequence is on the ******** hits the Yankees have continued to get in this game, including that misplayed comebacker to Biagini. Yes it is a pitcher's job to field his position as well, but I'm sure it's a tough play to make reflexively and then when you see that s*** hit the fan have the frame of mind to throw to the correct base.
  22. f***ing Christ. This is absurd.
