That's pretty hard to say. All I can say is Maile is outstanding behind the plate, it sucks that he's horrible offensively but with his defense and framing he might just be replacement level at least. -
Wasn't going to get him anyways, but that's some nice range shown. That's why you shouldn't judge Travis' defense on a few bobbles here and there.

If there's one guy you never want to see hit a flyball it's Chris Davis. What might look like a routine flyout for anyone could be 5 rows deep for him.

The skies are arguably just as bad to pick the ball up on days like this as any other time. There's still some glare when you look up and the ball can get lost very easily.

That's what bad framing will do to you. Notice how neither the pitcher nor the catcher argued about it. Most egregious missed strike calls generally happen when a catcher is set up way inside and the pitcher misses where the former has to reach across his body.

I feel bad for anyone who didn't pick Estrada against the Orioles. I have no idea how anyone was even remotely considering Trout, I ran out of money so quickly...my best hitter is Justin Upton. -
Estrada is just silly right now. The hitters are fooled by every pitch of his.

With our luck this season, Alford will just end up getting injured himself before we have to worry about any of that.

How long will he and DSJ be up for? Pillar returns tomorrow, and supposedly Tulo and JD are bound to return within the next week or so. Our bench is Coghlan, DSJ, Alford/Carrera and Ohlman. Ohlman will get sent down when Martin is back, Coghlan is probably gone when whichever of Tulo and JD returns first, DSJ when Pearce returns (when will this be?) or he's gone when KP returns tomorrow. Is Alford here longterm? Seems unlikely.
