Solarte really should be bothered to finish the last three steps to the bag with some effort. He does that way too much, it's not like it was a routine grounder.
Playing at the Coliseum is really underrated as a Jays fan's nightmare. I'd say it's up there with the Trop as some of the worst viewing experiences for us.
Prince Fielder is still being paid, I believe the Rangers had insurance on his contract so they're covering the contract. He also takes up a 40 man spot IIRC.
He also throws 99-100 consistently and has an outrageous breaking ball, I'm not too worried with his sequencing as long as he can get strikes when he needs to.
Clippard is probably gone in August. Not sure about Granderson, I would assume the same but I'm surprised there were no takers if he really hasn't been moved.
Seems like it's just Meadows and Glasnow, awful deal for Tampa IMO. The Pirates came away like bandits here, retaining Archer for 3 full seasons after this one.
The MLB trade deadline is underrated among sports, but maybe that's just because a lot of people don't care about baseball. It's consistently one of the most exciting and shocking days of the year.
He was quietly a very nice reliever for a lot of years now who for some reason or another could never break the hump into being truly good but never went bad either. Solid tenure with the organization.
I kind of really hate that for Tampa if that's all they could get for Archer. Two years ago I would have felt a lot different about it. I'm sure there's more to it however.
