  1. It should be noted that in his mystical relief innings, Sanchez had super mediocre K and BB rates for a reliever. 13.6% K-BB%, which would be 105th among qualified relievers, and he doesn't have the special 98 mph bowling ball sinker anymore to induce a shitload of groundballs like he used to. His fastball has been declining for a while as have his groundball rates.
  2. That's 3 year MLB veteran Ronald Torreyes to you sir!
  3. As if listening to Pat Tabler on its own wasn't awful enough.
  4. This was an interesting read and route from Ryan Braun. https://bdata-producedclips.mlb.com/c6266de0-bce7-47f2-b0a6-7ae16d2fb153.mp4
  5. Is it just me or is the broadcast booth making awful beeping noises? Fix your f***ing mics guys jeez.
  6. It's a good thing Bo, Vlad and Fisher are good because lol @ our pitching this game.
  7. Grichuk can't catch a break in this one.
  8. Did they just ignore everything after his contribution to the no-hitter? Lmao
  9. Bo is a god damn superstar.
  10. So why don't more hitters do this to Kershaw? Lefty ones at that. Two others had done that this season, what gives?
  11. Apparently the Yankees tried to change his pitch mix and it really didn't work out. Could also have been a mental thing after some time struggling, the change of scenery has been perfect for him, and now the Reds have him cheap for three additional seasons plus a team option at a very reasonable price.
  12. Ugh, that's brutal after what looked to be a strikeout to end the inning.
  13. Where did that last pitch miss?
  14. Sonny Gray continues killing it with the Reds. Another 10 strikeout performance, season FIP at 3.40, xFIP at 3.55, strikeouts way up. One of the rare guys the Yankees actually made worse and traded him at his lowest value for little. Just a reminder that Cashman isn't the boogeyman, this was a coup for the Reds.
  15. I truly believe this. Given that it didn't help at all, I'm glad to see him say f*** it and go back to sitting 93-94 where at least his mistakes might garner an extra swing and miss.
  16. I'm seeing 419 feet from baseball savant, but I know Statcast can at times be wonky with its distance measurements. Where are you getting 404 from?
  17. Jansen has been one of the very best defensive catchers in baseball this year, elite by every metric. McGuire looks solid too, but to say he's clearly the better defender is not right at all. Jansen has been outstanding with his throwing, blocking and especially framing. He's fantastic behind the plate.
  18. Fisherrrrrrr
  19. Kyle Johnston, the guy we acquired for Hudson, on the other hand, yikes. 12 strikeouts and 14 walks in 16 innings at A+. Command was always said to be a problem for him and he's been said to be a future reliever. You hope at least the stuff has been there and maybe he's just trying out a new pitch or something, but often times you really don't hit on these fringe guys that you acquire for lower tier rentals at the deadline. It's also early of course, 16 innings is nothing.
  20. Jansen makes up for his earlier framing botchjob with another outstanding defensive effort. What a stud he's become behind the plate.
  21. The big park coming in handy early lol, I thought that was a bomb by Seager.
  22. I've heard nobody say anything about Thomas Hatch, the guy we acquired for David Phelps, but he has a pretty impressive 19 strikeouts against 2 walks in 21.1 innings of work. He's 24 and in AA so obviously not a big time prospect, but a solid first impression, makes you hope he can become another Waguespack and show promise as a potential backend 5/6th starter or long man.
  23. Jansen kind of killed Boshers in that AB, uncharacteristically so. Some borderline pitches which he didn't attempt to bring back up.
  24. Can we not, after a one start sample? Our AAA rotation isn't the greatest, and one of the few decent pieces this year in Waguespack had a very respectable K rate there in his time in Buffalo.
  25. Looks like his continuous back injuries did him in. It's a shame, he was such a joy to watch when he was healthy for the Jays.
