  1. Did you see how those 22 innings went? He missed all of 2018 then came back for a handful of innings in 2019 where his velocity had decreased and he forgot how to throw strikes.
  2. I think Wood, Nelson and McHugh are all interesting options as guys who you could sign to be relievers (potentially of the long-man variety) and stretch them out if injuries to the rotation occur or simply use them for 3-5 innings for that time period. I'm not sure you can trust either of those guys to give you 150 innings, so if you can squeeze out 60-100 solid innings that's a win, though I would believe they're all looking for starting opportunities. Assuming no team is offering much for their services, giving them a middling 1-2 year deal with incentives could potentially interest them all in different capacities.
  3. Would a current player who is diagnosed with ALS even stop playing right away? Has that happened recently?
  4. I think your player dying is different than your player being Felipe Vasquez. Yes their careers end just as abruptly, but I do feel there's a distinction. While in real life teams aren't compensated for losing a single player to sudden unexpected death, they are in more extreme circumstances. This isn't the LOD, we don't necessarily need to follow real life as much, I think compensating an owner for the loss of a star is fair within the competitive nature of the league, obviously others will disagree.
  5. I'm not privy to the Reds' budget availability, but I don't see how signing a CF would take them out of the running for Ozuna/Castellanos, unless this signals Senzel moves to a corner OF instead of back to the infield. Winker is constantly injured and both he and Aquino are not good defenders, with the latter very much being an unproven commodity.
  6. I'm trading Cal Quantrill to Abom along with my fourth round waiver for his first round waiver (#4 overall). Abom to confirm. I don't believe waiver picks are on Fantrax right?
  7. What a chokefest from both teams lol. Fun game to watch as a spectator though.
  8. I wish I could have as much faith on any player as you guys have on a 25 year year old constantly injured former prospect with consecutive sub 100 wRC+ seasons in AAA with worsening K rates. Is his defense even good?
  9. One of the best? Maybe by upside but they also have by far the most risk and variability among farm systems. I'm not sure there's any one of their guys who you can say is likely to be a surefire (or as close as one can say for a prospect) very good player aside maybe from Bleday who's the safest of them all.
  10. Don't forget McCaw showing that big dick 3peat energy.
  11. Brissett with some crucial hustle plays there at the end of the third. Huge hops for two offensive boards and then great defense on the other end. I love how everyone on this team can contribute no matter how unexpected.
  12. I've received some strong offers on Honeywell but I'll need time to decide if I'm going to end up keeping him or not. A couple of the proposals are very interesting but I'm on the edge about. Get your offers in!
  13. Why would you believe that? He might be hot headed on the field and prone to make mental mistakes, but the guy is rather universally loved by Dodgers and Reds fans. He's an easy fan favourite thanks to his infectious energy.
  14. They should just have let the Korean reporters get all the questions, much less cringe that way. This is awful.
  15. She just asked him if he's always been fat, Jesus Christ.
  16. "Ryu, how do you feel being a junkballer and how are you still able to be good at baseball?" Fantastic question that, really glad they asked it.
  17. I have room for one, possibly two, starters among the following group, which means the rest are up for sale. Anthony Kay Jimmy Nelson Cal Quantrill Rick Porcello Trent Thornton Nathan Eovaldi Brent Honeywell Honeywell will be the hardest to pry away as I'd like to give him a couple more regular season injured months before finally accepting the sunk cost and cutting ties. He'll probably be worth an actual player. For the rest the prices are variable, I'll likely not accept a position player unless they happen to play 3B or 1B, preferred option is a waiver upgrade.
  18. Teheran gets $9MM guaranteed for his one year deal, which seems like a lot of money for him if you go by FIP-based WAR, but potentially a steal if you go by RA9-WAR. Fascinating case, and we've all defended Chase Anderson here in on way or another for being a similar type of pitcher who appears to outperform his DIPS.
  19. Ibaka and Lowry finally both came to play at the same time since coming back from injury. They've been amazing.
  20. Lmao and now they wave off a fast break to call a technical foul instead, punishing the Raptors.
  21. Gross, Love would kill our cap space and he doesn't fix any issues that losing Gasol for an extended period would present.
  22. You don't think Roark and Anderson significantly upgrade the floor of the rotation? Sure Stroman was very good and we're not replacing him, but the garbage that was Aaron Sanchez, Edwin Jackson, Feireband, etc. has clearly been diminished and replaced by guys who at least could make up part of a major league rotation, even if not a good one. 300 innings of Roark and Anderson would probably add 5 wins alone even if they're just perfectly mediocre.
  23. That's what you got out of the interview? If anything I understood that they really don't value Tellez at all, as Shapiro seemed to deflect questions when asked about him, obviously in an effort to not throw Rowdy under the bus. Their pursuit of Tsutsugo and Moustakas earlier would certainly indicate that they want to upgrade, and rumours have us in on Smoak and Edwin.
  24. This officiating is horrible.
