  1. Lol yeah in that scenario I see that you have to pump him up to future buyers, or just for the sheer feeling of telling everyone to suck it.
  2. I have nothing against the guy, but am I the only that secretly wishes he blows out his arm and d'Arnaud can't ever play a game at catcher anymore? I just need some comfort, because if they both become stars I don't know how we'll be able to cope with it. Again, nothing against either guy, loved them while they were here and the farm still looked promising. On the bright (sort of) side, if they do become stars then it exposes the horrible deal to even casuals of the colossal failure of that trade.
  3. Oh yeah, I'm really loving the way the team is performing, the terrible offseason moves, losing all the prospects for old, injury prone players on giant contracts, I'm all smiles. Seriously, the O's pitching as a whole is terrible, and you honestly can't say that isn't true without letting hatred cloud your judgement. They still have one of the best offenses in the MLB. So what, you think the Yankees' team is all stars too?
  4. Dude, let's not cloud our eyes with hatred towards our own team, the O's rotation is absolute garbage, ours is miles better if the pitchers were only performing 75% of their usual (Johnson, Dickey for example).
  5. This isn´t the NL West, one push doesn`t get you even close in our division, even if we were to win 11 straight once again our chances keep looking dim. It makes sense to NOT get a rental player, however, for those ruling out the likes of Garza (if he is even being considered), a good player with a reasonable extension for a reasonable package (this is obviously the hard part) I`m sure would be the org`s intention, likely not happening though.
  6. Did it look intentional? Is it brawl worthy? Stare Shaw down Bautista, ALA Robertson.
  7. I hate that Hutch got injured, he was looking like a sure-thing-3rd starter at the time, with some good pitching a very good #4 or 5. Increased velocity, control wasn't an issue, fastball command always seemed spot-on, and the offspeed were starting to work as well, f*** injuries.
  8. Lol hey bro, just trying to get some posts in on an interesting discussion. Still going to be hard to post on a regular basis but at least I might get one or two posts in on occasion. Great job on the GDT's btw.
  9. I know the Jays have a lot of support, but it's going to be hard for Delabar to make it with a Yankee in there, the Yankees have a massive fanbase, if Jeter wasn't injured I'm sure he would have made it again by a landslide no matter how good or bad he was playing. Don't rule out the Sox either, good fanbase plus savezz is not a good combination in Delabar's favor.
  10. I don't really agree with this reasoning at all. I mean, if you're the Marlins' GM you at least have to hope that by getting better prospects maybe some rich old billionaire would take interest in the team, buy it and give them a decent payroll. It doesn't make any sense to want worse players just because they won't earn as much money as other more valuable ones. Sure if the Dodgers just decided to give away Greinke they probably couldn't afford him but if you get a prospect you have some controllable years in them and then worst case scenario trade them for more prospects when their FA years come up. No team's strategy should ever be to purposely acquire bad players in exchange for good ones just for the sake of paying them little.
  11. I actually appreciate what the Marlins have been doing so far even though their owners are complete snakes. I admire getting rid of their highest paid players for prospects, valuable young players and other valuable players (like Escobar), it's absolutely a kick in the balls to the fans for making them think the team was serious for a year and then just went ahead and traded everyone when it all failed, but still as far as realizing their mistake and trying to capitalize by getting good young players it's a smart move. However, while I don't know much of the players in return, I think trading a solid pitcher like Nolasco for what appears to be 2 relievers and a 23 year old pitcher in the low minors is not very good for them, I'm sure a team desperate to compete (like the Dodgers themselves) or one looking to solidify their rotation (Orioles, Rangers (though Daniels is hard to trade with)) could have offered a better package. I get it, obvious salary dump, but like I said the players in return could've been better.
  12. Mark Buerhle's a bulldog bro. He gets out there everyday, doesn't give a s***, might give up 5 runs or none, you can book on 6+ innings, pinpoint control, not trying to blow anyone by, and yet still racks up the occasional K. #Bulldogmentality
  13. Born there. Also, did JP just take a walk?!?!?! Or is it just that the boxscore guy is really hitting the booze hard?
  14. I haven't got a clue, just speaking out of experience.
  15. NEVER GO TO THE STADIUM ON CAMP DAY!!! It's the worst thing in the world and the damn kids will scream obnoxiously loud for everything!! At least the game I went on was a good one because I don't think I could have handled any kind of loss.
  16. So I check in and Bautista hits a HR, good stuff. And now Edwin with the walk, awesome! Keep it going here.
  17. Sanchez + Osuna (is he eligible to be traded already?) + Lind for Utley and Howard. Am I doing it right AA? Seriously looking back at the offseason trades...I can find peace with the Marlins one but Dickey for d'Arnaud and Syndergaard? That one's the stinger. Edit: It wasn't supposed to be a reply but whatever, I agree about the Rasmus part, while he may be inconsistent he always has good power and good range in CF, certainly better than the scrubs we were throwing out there before we acquired him.
  18. Top 10 catchers, especially ones with 1 average to above average tools for the position shouldn't be in this discussion, not fair to the rest.
  19. Trout can post the same value, if not more. All are controllable for a few years (Puig's under contract so it's a bit different) while Miggy earns the bucks and surely to be near Pujols level when his next FA year comes by. Edit: This was a response to Dick_Pole's post.
  20. I agree with this, IMO Trout and Harper will be really close value-wise (pending health issues of course), one's got easily 5 tools, the other has crazy power and the other 5 above-average at least tools in which he can and probably will improve upon. Machado's great but I think he may be a notch below the first two. Puig's got a SSS and while I would love for my fellow countryman to keep it going he's likely not going to, however he's also fairly young and could really continue to make an impact on the league, so hopefully he still can carry out like Cespedes once his numbers start to drop to realistic measures.
