  1. From what I've heard Detroit's system is pretty terrible, so I don't think that's the best team to get a decent prospect out of, and they are definitely not trading their top prospect for a bunch of relievers.
  2. Can it be lifetime ban, and Yanks pay the money to a whole bunch of charities? That way everyone gets f***ed and it's for a good cause.
  3. No Soler in that lineup? According to one of the prospect lists (KLaw I think) a lot of Cubs' prospects don't exactly take many walks to say the least.
  4. Lol at Gameday: Scout: "Josh Johnson showed faith in J.P. Arencibia by throwing a slider in the dirt with a runner on 3rd" In other words, Josh Johnson lost his mind.
  5. Rasmus' is so predictable. Of course it's country.
  6. I don't really agree with tanking, this isn't the NBA where a top 5 pick can immediately come in and be an impact player, the closest being Strasburg or Harper types of players that are ready to come up to the bigs in less than a year, plus let's face it we're not even bad enough to make it to top 5. Can you still lose your pick by signing a type A FA unless your pick is in the top 10? If anything that's the only thing I might worry about being that there will be some good FA choices out there this year.
  7. It's a shame, I was going to post JP as a joke yesterday... Rasmus for me today.
  8. A computer can't calculate PRODUKSHUN bro! But seriously if it's not too much trouble mind recapping the main ideas for someone with slow internet?
  9. Isn't this an amazing deal for the Astros? Or has he been struggling really bad or getting injured a lot? If this is last year's Altuve then it's a freaking steal.
  10. Yeah it is unfortunate but looking like it. I also agree about the Dodgers deal being really helpful to their payroll flexibility so kudos to him on that.
  11. I wasn't questioning that part, you do realize that Yunel doesn't live in Cuba? Or for that matter has to request a bunch of permits just to visit.
  12. True, but although managers do play somewhat of a role they have a good core like it was already mentioned, in my personal opinion I never like trading a manager for a player since you can just sign the manager and keep the player, I might understand just giving up some random never-will-make-it player but to give away a utility man like Aviles might be too much IMO.
  13. Cherington has had a fair share of questionable moves though. Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't trades like the Lowrie and Reddick ones considered pretty bad? Also there's the fact that he traded a decent utility guy for a manager.
  14. This guy's not a winner; sub .500 record are you serious? Proven winners win championships.
  15. I agree, I was being a bit extreme there, I just hope he doesn't become the next Verlander so the trade doesn't always come back to remind us of what a bad deal it was.
  16. Lol yeah in that scenario I see that you have to pump him up to future buyers, or just for the sheer feeling of telling everyone to suck it.
  17. I have nothing against the guy, but am I the only that secretly wishes he blows out his arm and d'Arnaud can't ever play a game at catcher anymore? I just need some comfort, because if they both become stars I don't know how we'll be able to cope with it. Again, nothing against either guy, loved them while they were here and the farm still looked promising. On the bright (sort of) side, if they do become stars then it exposes the horrible deal to even casuals of the colossal failure of that trade.
  18. Oh yeah, I'm really loving the way the team is performing, the terrible offseason moves, losing all the prospects for old, injury prone players on giant contracts, I'm all smiles. Seriously, the O's pitching as a whole is terrible, and you honestly can't say that isn't true without letting hatred cloud your judgement. They still have one of the best offenses in the MLB. So what, you think the Yankees' team is all stars too?
  19. Dude, let's not cloud our eyes with hatred towards our own team, the O's rotation is absolute garbage, ours is miles better if the pitchers were only performing 75% of their usual (Johnson, Dickey for example).
  20. This isn´t the NL West, one push doesn`t get you even close in our division, even if we were to win 11 straight once again our chances keep looking dim. It makes sense to NOT get a rental player, however, for those ruling out the likes of Garza (if he is even being considered), a good player with a reasonable extension for a reasonable package (this is obviously the hard part) I`m sure would be the org`s intention, likely not happening though.
  21. Did it look intentional? Is it brawl worthy? Stare Shaw down Bautista, ALA Robertson.
