  1. 1st base coach told him to go. Hard to blame Lawrie for that.
  2. Way too early to get a firm projection. All the BB/9 tells us is that his floor is still pretty low. The guy still has time on his side, but does need to start making strides if he wants to hit his ceiling in the bigs. Other than that, it's all gospel.
  3. Buck and Pat struggle with remembering the current Jays. No way they gave a s*** or knew what Shi was talking about.
  4. This season is all about health. There's no doubt this team can be competitive, but most prognosticators based their predictions on at least a few key pieces returning to the DL, and a pitching line-up with a few huge question marks. If the middle of the rotation can provide what it has over the past two outings, this team should be playing meaningful ball in August.
  5. There will be a lot of negativity around team eventually... until then, enjoy the small victories and slow your roll. Morrow to begin is Cy Young bid tonight.
  6. Pretty decent first few games for the Jays. Approach at the plate and D looks like a 180 from the past couple years. MB killing it. Let's hope the past two games are a nice omen of things to come. Would love to leave Tampa and head into a series with the reeling Yanks with a 3-1 record.
  7. AA's only fault in this situation was waiting until the 11th hour. The preference to pitch in the NL and Santana's leverage ploy off BAL and TOR is as wimpy as they come. I get that it's a business, but what a low-blow. Hope this comes back to bite him next year when he looks for a multi-year offer. Bottom line: We all got the 1 year deal we wanted from Santana, but it wasn't meant to be. That being said, the general rage that is focused at AA is more of a backlash of a pretty pathetic offseason; where even minor tweaks or added depth is missing for a team that is supposedly in their 'window'. Here's to blowing it all up in 3 months!
  8. Hahaha How many teams can say they are going into 2014 as a 'likely' playoff team? 2? 3? Add in the dimension of the AL East (was Boston 'likely' to make the playoff last year?) and having a 'possibility' at the playoffs is really the most any Jays fan can ask for at this point.
  9. "Alex, what is 'who cares?'" Really this should be another blip on the promotional schedule, but as long as people keep bringing attention to it, you get the bigots out of their cocoons. The MLB has celebrated negro leagues in the past and while they were more 'baseball relevant' the message behind the celebration was a political one.
  10. What we all have been waiting for! Personally most impressed with the 93 pitch count.

Call me crazy, I like the move. Frattin, while a nice piece was blocked on the wing and expendable given the winger market and Leafs upcoming depth. Scrivens was gone either way, RFA and it was clear the Leafs wanted an upgrade. 2nd stings but I like that it's the Leafs choice between 2014/15. If Reimer can't handle this competition, he's not a real #1. Great upside to see a potential 1a/1b combo, with Bernier having the skill set to potentially a high ceiling goalie. And as others have said, Reimer has had three different injuries in the past 2 years, he hasn't proven he can be that 60 game goalie yet. Not a waste of assets to now have goaltending locked up for the Leafs for the short term and what appears to be the future.
  12. Was at the game. Thought it was over twice when the O's went up by two (the bats were dead all night). What a finish... hope this brings up 40+ tomorrow!
  13. Hahaha at the amount of PMS in this thread This place (and the old board) reads like the Leafs HF boards.
  14. 265 Girodo, Chad Mississippi St U (MS) LHP L/L SR 6'01" 195lbs DOB: 02/06/91
  15. Two more and we got a top 10 all pitcher class!

  17. All pitcher top 10 potentially?
  18. Of the three you listed that are currently in the system, two are considered at least top 15 prospects in the system.
  19. I'm not going to pretend I know anything; but I'm assuming this is because Hollon may pull a Smoral and think he can do better given a clean bill of health?
  20. Or they are trying to save $$$ for Rounds 10+.
  21. Got my popcorn for the hater parade round 2!
  22. Thanks for the laugh this morning everyone. Reading peoples reactions to crap they know little about, and without the full picture always makes me chuckle.
