  1. The two should come back about the same time. As of the evening of June 16, the Jays are playing like World Series Champions. Add those two guys then it should be a piece of cake. Nobody in the AL East is that good, I may be scared of the Tigers but as of this morning they have won 5 fewer games then Boston. Gee, I didn't know that manager we had last year was so good. The Orioles scare me far more than the other three teams, they want a Josh Johnson like pitcher so bad. Hum......................
  2. Rasmus simply chose the wrong sport. He should have chosen golf. He has a beautiful distinct swing, but misses too often. But when he gets lucky and connects.........look out!
  3. Adam Linds mechanics are perfect.""" Unlike the past three years, he's focusing on the art or skill of great hitting.""" Unfortunately some players today only increase their work ethic when there is money on the table, i'm referring to him signing a 3 to 6 year contract in his prime beginning next year. I hate being negative, but I have seen this before the past 20 years, remember V. Wells great year when he was playing for a big contract??? Remember how great his stats were AFTER he got his big contract? I hope Lind helps us get back in the race, but if I was the Jays management, I'd let him sign a big contract with another team next year. BTW, why can't we bring that 30 year old second baseman down in buffalo who is hitting 360 and try him at first base next year? Or later this year if our luck turns bad again. In case you didn't know first base is the easiest position to play at the MLB, its very important tho at the little league level because you have to be able to catch the ball.
  4. We'll Dickey can't pitch anymore, but he does lead the Blue Jays in batting with a .333 clip. OK, now he is second to Adam Lind.
  5. Is JJ starting starting or is he back for relief. Good question from JaysFaith since that seems to be the only word Blue Jays management knows how to spell.(RELIEF) Since we got him as a starter, much to their dismay (they'd like him for the second inning man) he will start. If they got Sandy Koufax in his prime, they'd want to turn him into a reliever. They think NEGATIVE, HOW NOT TO LOSE! Ismail Rogers was the 8th man in the bullpen, soon to be shipped to the minors, so they thought, we don't care about his arm, lets start him! He was smart, He's pitched several good games and to this point has become a bonafide starter. Hopefully he'll take Dickeys place later in the year when they pretend (like Lawrie now) that poor Dickey is injured.
  6. All that matters is Dickey does stink. Pitching like an ace one out of 60 games will not get the job done, and I'm tired of hearing about all these PHONY injury excuses. I can just hear it now in August, "Oh gee if RA Dickey wouldn't have been injured we'd be in first place" The Jays Management put too much emphasis on relief pitching, and little on starters. It's great starters that win pennants not relief pitchers, look at St. Louis. As of mid June we have Johnson, Burhle, Rogers, Wang and soon Morrow. Dickey is a LIABILITY, like Romero, so why put the SOB out there just so that we can be 4 - 0 after two innings, ANS - because we are paying him so much. Remember when they brought Romero up to pitch a game whan we were already 8 games below .500 and couldn't afford to lose? There was no indication that Romero would be affective, but only the opposite. Thats Beeston for you, PUBLIC RELATIONS is his forte, not knowing how to win. Remember Gibbons first time here and losing badly for a long time, Beeston FINALLY fires Gibbons, but replaces him with Cito Gaston. If Gaston was a good manager he would have found work elsewhere. The White Sox were originally interested in Gaston, but someone had to explain to the GM, "NO NO, even tho he won two World Series he is not a good manager!" Pat Gillick just happened to bring in some great players thats all. If it wasn't for Pat Gillick The Blue Jays never would have been good enough to win a world series.
  7. This thread sure has got a lot of comments. Since we think Profar is the next Robinson Cano, and I'm guilty of that, and Texas think Baustita is Roberto Clemente, I say we make the trade ASAP. Profar is not even first string, Texas would have liked to waste him another year in the minors so they wouldn't have to pay him a huge contract for one year later, but injury to Texas regular second baseman forced them to bring him up.
  8. All of my life a KNUCKLE ball pitcher pitched for THE OTHER TEAM, and won. I complained, it should be illegal (the knuckle ball), and now this year we have a CY YOUNG nucklehead pitcher on OUR TEAM! And what happens.................................
  9. Is that all you can say Nixon! DAMN! Your're not as dumb as I thought you was. I was really ready to get ugly but you blew it for me.
  10. I understand why a wimp like Josh Johnson should go, but 42 year old Oliver isn't going to bring any returns, the man wants to be a husband and a father, let him finish his long career in style. (this regarding Gnsarls comment above).
  11. Nixon, we don't care about your impotent problems!
  12. North of 49, If we win Friday night, (remember there is still some talent on this team) We will be only 6 games below .500. We can do it, and for a team that is in first place (Texas) they look soorier then us.
  13. I have a feeling if we make smart changes we can climb the latter, but this bull Mike Wilner was spinning in April was just that, (Losses in April don't mean anything) very little chance for first, but sure 3 or 4 wins by the Jays and 3 or 4 losses by Tampa or Baltimore then we could be in the middle or the AL EAST.
  14. Otis Nixon, Don't know what we could have done without your intelligent comment. How immature can you get!
  15. You know being only 6 games below .500 is pretty good when yours truely thought by mid June we would be 15 below. We have tried at least three times to get there but in all three times we were sent back to the dump,EIGHT BELOW .500. Time is running out but it still is early. Imagine only being 6 games below .500, then we win 3 or 4 in a row and are challenging Tampa and Baltimore for third place Johnson is back and playing for a big contract ditto with Lind, (Zauns superstar) (we sent him down to the minors last year, any team could have picked him up, but nobody wanted him,) funny how he plays great when his work ethic is so good just months before a new contract. and Zaun says he is a star! I'm TIRED of watching Rasmus and JPA strike out, bring up the 230 average Gose, he is a game changer, and let Thole do most of the catching the rest of the season. With Morrow and Reyes coming back, we could make things interesting.)
  16. JPA good at pitch framing? Who told you that Zaun? The only thing JPA is good at is striking out. Rasmus is 6th in the league, he has to be behind JPA......I should Google the top ten strike out hitters as of the middle of June 2013. The health care workers work so hard for the Jays, yet ignore eye sight. At least Rasmus & Arencebia either need glasses or must go. Notice how AFRAID Gibbons is in putting Thole ahead of JPA unless Dickey is pitching. I wish baseball managers were more like NFL football coaches.
  17. I love talking trades, back when I was a kid there was no free agency so the only way players traded uniforms was trades, it was much more exciting then, but still exciting. I'd trade Jose for that great second baseman in a heart beat. Jose is overrated. You have me stumped on the Josh Johnson trade, but lets keep our fingers crossed and hope the first draft pick for him will be good. Johnson has done nothing for us this year, and he thinks some GM will be dumb enough to give him a bigger contract then Jus. Verlander!
  18. Spittin says why is it so hard to understand that Baustita has sold so many tickets and helped Rogers Cable make so much money: The fans don't get paid any profits that Rogers makes. Most fans think the number of home runs a player hits makes him the best player. Now if the fans got sent a $10,000 cheque for finishing in first place(all of them), your comment might make some degree of since, as the more tickets and uniforms we sold the bigger the pay out. Otherwise all we fans care about is WINS! We are tired of being the laughing stock of the A.L. East.......Year after year celler dwellers.
  19. Could Rogers become a solid starter for the rest of this year, and maby next year? Or have the A.L. Hitters just ignored his scouting reports because he is not that well known? I hope it is the former, some guys are thought of as not being that good, but when given a chance, proove who they really are. I myself in April thought this guy back in April was only here for a cup of coffee, and maby Gibbons too, thinking, "Oh will let this little sh-- pitch then send him down to the minors, but now he has gained a lot of respect from Gibbons.
  20. Profar is ready to turn into a star now. He is in Robinson Cano's catagory. Great second basemen like Pete Rose, Cano and Profar are hard to find unlike outfielders. It was only in the steroid era that shortstops and second basemen became power hitters. Great second basemen who could hit were around from 1867 to the 1990's but THEY WERE RARE! I would make that trade.
  21. there is no mederator, i wrote before THERE IS NO TURNAROUND! We are 8 games below .500, We have been fluxiating between 7 games below .500 and 10 games below .500 since the players awakened and realized, "we aren't gods like rogers said we were", which has been more than a month now. WHAT IS WITH THE TURN AROUND??? BTW, teen-agers, don't be fooled by Mike Wilner. DON'T YOU PUNKS TODAY KNOW HOW TO THINK FOR YOURSELF?
  22. I think I owe M. Wilner an apology. I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW DUMB BLUE JAYS FANS ARE!!!!!!!!!! I assumed that you fans were intelligent like Cleveland, Milwaukee, and Chicago fans, but I guess those fans have died off. No wonder Rogers is laughing.
  23. Jonn, he was well over .300 BA, that is horrendous? THAT IS ALL STAR MATERIAL! AA traded Travis Snider to Pittsburgh for Brad Lincoln. What does that tell you about AA?
  24. If you lived in downtown Buffalo, and had to put up with the BS Blue Jays screwing your team up all the time, how would you feel about Toronto?
  25. For some reason I was not a fan of Davis in March, but since he has shown that he can hit, and I get excited when he is on first, because unlike Gose he has the balls to steal on the first pitch, he is fun to watch! If we sell Johnson, Bureley, and Cabreaa (sorry my french not that good) in July we have nothing lost with Davis in left field.
