  1. No, this store only seems to sell sports cards, and the place isn't big enough for tournaments. There's other much larger stores that have the magic and yu gi oh kind of stuff going on.
  2. I sometimes walk by a small and shady looking collectible card shop on my street, and the place is absolutely packed in the evening.
  3. I used my last pick in the fantasy league draft to draft Hutch. I had a feeling that the pitching would go to s*** this year, as it always does. He has been sitting on my DL all season and I may actually get some innings from him this year.
  4. I will help you for real. ACE reliever - I have never heard anybody say this before, but an ace is your best pitcher, so an ace reliever would be your best reliever. Troll - literal meaning is a mythical creature, internet meaning is someone who lurks message boards and annoys/insults everyone by often pretending to be someone they aren't (such as the dogg/puppy) Keyboard warrior - someone who says tough things on the internet that they wouldn't say in real life. I thought tu es maricon was Spanish. It was understood to mean "you are a fag" in English, and that's why everyone was so outraged by it. Douchebag - literal meaning is some device to clean a vagina, but usually used as an insulting term to describe another person.
  5. His WAR has not improved every year. He is only worth 0.3 WAR this season. He's way off pace to meet his dismal total from last year. He is actually regressing.
  6. This list also reminded me of how good Frank Catalanotto was
  7. He's the worst player to ever put on the uniform.
  8. I've been to Fenway a few times. It's interesting, but be prepared to deal with some dumb obnoxious fans. The fans there really don't know baseball very well. I once had a 'die hard' fan say "who?" when I mentioned our fantastic closer BJ Ryan (this was in 2006 btw).
  9. What went wrong is that we can not develop players in our minor league system. It's not fair to say that the Dickey trade was a rip off, because even if these players pan out and have great careers, how do you know that they would be just as good if we kept them? There is something seriously wrong with the coaching and development staff in this organization. All our players suck, and all our good players are not homegrown Blue Jays. We haven't produced a superstar player since Green and Delgado! That was almost 20 years ago now.
  10. He got Blue Jay prospect syndrome

Think of some of the players that have gone top 5 in the draft for the past 6-7 years. We could have had a few of them if Burke didn't start this huge mess to begin with. By refusing to rebuild he set the team back about 20 years, and now Nonis has just set us back another decade.
  12. The whole organization needs to be gutted, top to bottom. It's been years, if not decades since we produced some legit major league players from our own system.
  13. He should be thankful that the media gave him a free pass for being terrible for 3 straight seasons. I will never understand how he got away with being so bad.
  14. He's a leader, he speaks for the whole team. These are the intangibles we have been missing.
  15. There's now no reason for JP to be on this team. He and Thole are better.
  16. These threads are getting way too long. Did we make good picks? I don't follow draft business.
  17. Well the guy who is 10 years older has a bit of an excuse
  18. Lawrie will be injury prone his whole career. An injury update is futile. Just get used to him not playing regularly and stop stressing about it.
  19. MLB is stooping to the NBA's level. Such a poorly run league. They are partaking in a witch hunt to try to restore fan confidence when it only proves that their own testing has been s***, and frankly any fans with a brain don't care at this point.
  20. It wont matter who is in the rotation as long as he who must not be named is behind the plate catching them.
  21. Might as well. We will never have the same 5 pitchers in the rotation for the whole season, so we need the depth, and he at least has a track record of success.
