  1. Damn Melky's got a great eye. He'll flip it into the OF to score Reyes tie it up
  2. COME ON BOYS! Best part of the line up! f*** YEAH REYES! SLid perfectly on that!. Watch them challenge.
  3. Or does Rasmus start running in quicksand half way, pulls up, lets it go, plays the hop poorly and then just kind of stands there like it was inevitable?
  4. This guy is going to cash in especially if he pitches well in the post season. Damn.
  5. If the Jays fall out of it they'll likely use the excuse that Melky wanted to go elsewhere or no sense in resigning him since we can't compete or some BS they'll feed us.
  6. I hope they extend him soon (at least before FA window expires) since it'll be a blow next year. I might cry if they let him go without any intention on bringing him back and/or to a team that has an offer the Jays could easily match or beat.
  7. Double means they'll pitch around Bautista or try fooling him and making him go after a bad pitch.
  8. He won't hit it where it's pitched. No way. He's not batting .350 only .320! Oh look what happened. Just when you think Narvy is putting it together that happens.
  9. I wouldn't mind seeing some who are known to blow it to be punished. Some ump blowing a call once in a while isn't the end of the world but it should be noted. If it's consistent or consistently inconsistent with a strike zone, or making bad calls then there should be some kind of penalty. Another example is if an ump seems to favour or single out certain players for an unreasonable or personal matter and punishes them ie calls a strike on a close pitch against a hitter or a ball against a pitcher. There's enforcing your authority and letting them know especially a young, hot headed player, that they have to act a certain way and then there's what we've seen some umps do, take something personal and really overreact. Thankfully that doesn't happen a lot.
  10. Google glasses or something isn't a bad idea. It can instantly show them where the pitch was or track it. I wasn't saying they all were, my apologies if I was generalizing too much. I'm sure there are some lazy ones like everywhere and everyone makes a bad call but I was reserving the comment to those who seem to be consistently inconsistent. I should have specified that more.
  11. So far this game has been as advertised: nice pitching match up. One big hit could be the ball game like it has been the past few games.
  12. That is true in many cases but if that's what they have to do then why have the umps? Go to the computer tracking. if they guess wrong it's annoying at best, a game changer at worse all for guessing.
  13. They should make mandatory eye tests and performance reviews a few times a year for the umps. We have the pitching tracking now and it should be weighed against what they're calling. Allow managers and players to file complaints against them. If it's obvious they called a strike when it's 6" outside hold it against them and if they called it a ball right down the middle. I think that would go a long way if their jobs depended on it. Everyone screws up especially under pressure of the bigs but hold them accountable. If people screwed up as much as they did at their jobs they'd be disciplined or terminated.
  14. I'm thinking it's more the quality of the umpires lately. He might be onto something, ie umps tend to know pitchers and their habits like hitters and catchers but it seems a bit sweeping to me as to why those s***** calls are being made. Seems like since integration there's another generation of s***** umps making s***** calls with no one being held accountable. They can phone it in and what's going to happen to them? Nothing. Jobs are secure.
  15. Oh ********, Buck. Don't claim that not having AL and NL umps is why the umpires can't call strikes because they're not familiar with the pitchers.
  16. No sooner does Buck compliment him on being a nice fill in for EE and that happened.
