The thing that kind of scares me with AA is he seems to have a lot of wishful thinking when it comes to hoping players will play to their abilities and in some cases better than he thinks. He seems to like the let's hope for the best case scenario and this guy is playing well now therefore next year and for years down the road he is so let's not bothering thinking about looking to add there ie Valencia is playing well, so we don't need to look for a better 2B/3B because he's looking solid and Lawrie is somehow a top player for a week or two then struggles, then gets hurt, then somehow AA thinks he's an All Star for years to come. It seems similar to JPR always valuing a player he likes even when it's clear they're not a MLB caliper player or at best a back up ie Mench and Wilkerson. We've seen a number of seasons of having a young guy with some talent get the nod time and time again, struggle, not handle it but not be replaced until way too late in the year or by some AAAA player while some other guys barely get a look and are shipped out.
I know things are limited but after two seasons of disappointment with how one began poorly after the trades, this one was off to a good start in and first place only to fall apart because reinforcements weren't brought in when some areas it was painfully obvious something was needed and his we'll just hope the injured players come back strong took a toll. He'll have to pull some magic this offseason or not only will the team wonder around in yet another mediocre year but the fans will start to get even more pissed.
