Even if he's not worth 19 million it was still a dumb trade. You get a platoon 3rd baseman who can play once every 4 days and is heading into arbitration, whereas Kratz was making league min and satisfied our needs as a guy who could catch the knuckleballer and could play everyday if he had to.
Yeah a 1 year deal like that is huge value. If he has a good season you can pin a QO on him. I doubt the Yankees don't offer him more then that though unless there planning on just rolling with Prado.
Dave Cameron at Fangraphs think's Headley is going to get a 1/10 deal which I would do in a heartbeat. He's is pretty much a lock to be a 3war player coming off his back issues this year. I think he gets a ton more then that.
Maybe we can convince Armaro that Reyes is better then Jimmy Rollins. He probably remembers him from his good old Mets days when he was passable at SS.
I also would talk to the Dodgers about Ethier, the guy has been a pretty solid player throughout his career and crushes righties. Team him up Mayberry in LF and you should be able to get good production.
Get out the check book and they will come. They won't be demanding 5-6 year deals so even if u have to overpay a bit on a 3-4 year deal you do it. Even if you can just land one of them there are still guys like Drew and Gregorious (via trade) that you can go after and platoon with Maicer.
"These pitchers pitched me into the shift pretty well. I believe I had my highest percentage of hard balls or line drives since I've been in the big leagues but the lowest average on balls in play.
Not true at all about the babip and your also striking out a career high 33% of the time Colby, therefore making less contact....use your brain a bit.
