  1. "Toronto remains a poor fielding team." Riiiiiiiiiiiight... Edit: What do you want to bet this guy gets a vote for Gold Glove too?
  2. Why, exactly, is Lind a sure bet to regress? Not like he's particularly far from a silver slugger season or anything...
  3. http://buriedplanet.com/userfiles/thats_racist_animated1.gif Accurate, but racist.
  4. I still don't believe that's pronounced "Curtis", no matter how many times people try to convince me.
  5. That's all Dickey's fault, if you take him out of the equation, I think our average age is like... 15 or something?
  6. Their TV ratings are huge, and for Rogers, that's probably just as big a deal (dem advertising dollaz)... Don't worry, cheap straw cowboy hats are sure to lure in the rubes!
  7. The most requested gif in this thread FINALLY gets posted...
  8. Umpires are paid by the league to make correct calls. They fail that test egregiously, particularly when calling the strike zone. Bautista absolutely touched home, but yes, Lawrie was not on second, that was a bad call in our favour. An ump making a bad call is not "luck", it's someone not doing their job well. The technology exists to do a better job mechanically, so it should be implemented (and the replays are a step in the right direction, Maddon just derped hard on which challenge to make tonight...)
  9. I complain about umps when they're bad. Even when they're bad to our benefit (I'm just usually a bit less angry with my complaints...) Replays are a good start, but if they can't get the strike zone 100%, then they should be replaced, since the technology exists to make them obsolete. The game should be between 2 teams of 25, there shouldn't be 4 fat (usually) white guys getting their pudgy, cake-smeared fingers all over it. Oh, and the "human element" that so many people always bring up, that's what the 25 guys are for (until THEY can be replaced by robots...)
  10. "Joey Bats was a skinny infielder..." and now he's a skinny outfielder? It's not like he's some bulky guy with a giant roid head... Nor is it like Encarnacion looks any different than he did when he got given away on waivers... Good lord...
  11. #roboumps
  12. For the benefit of those who didn't see it, what exactly happened in the interview?
  13. I love when my Rogers on Demand freezes up on scoring plays... It's the best ever!
  14. Yeah, but since it happens all the time, the people that do it all the time should be fired and replaced. Ideally with robots.
  15. Pitch framing is not considered for the actual stat WAR, but I get your drift... I doubt it's worth that much. It's maybe 2-3 WAN (WinsAboveNavarro, so I don't have to explain the joke later...) but that's because Navarro is very far below replacement level as a framer...
  16. Plus, think of all the money they'll save on bacon grease without Buchholz dipping his head in a big vat of the stuff between innings...
  17. We had Molina. I remember very clearly not wanting us to have Molina anymore. I wouldn't mind if we picked up a 3rd Molina brother, since the last one is the best one...
  18. The question really is "which of our centre fielders is the ugliest"? Pillar's just weird looking, but Gose and Rasmus are ugly men.
