    Except that there's no travel restrictions between Canada and Cuba like there are with the states... Though Cuba's not all that likely to allow the family of a high profile defector out of their sights too easily.

    Yeah, Kershaw's name was bandied about, but I don't know if that was just wishful thinking. Kershaw + Kemp for Wells would have been such robbery. Edit: Billingsley, that's right... My bad.

That's my only indication that they own that, but what a f***ing dumb idea that is, and it should be dumped NOW before they just keep shoveling money on that obvious money loser.

    Ted Lilly, Shea Hillenbrand and... ? In 7 seasons where he's coached dozens of players? Sometimes baseball players are dicks (and Shea Hillenbrand definitely qualified on that one...) and sometimes letting a player get away with being a dick isn't the right move. Jesus f***, if he hadn't done that s*** people would be complaining that the team was walking all over him.

    Yeah, I'm not going to put too much stock in that given the number of times I've seen New York get a review blatantly wrong... Maybe in a few years when it is ironed out and not pretty much laughable, but until then ragging on a manager for this seems silly.

    Siddall was a player as well. Not one of consequence in the majors, but he had parts of 13 years in the minors and parts of 4 in the majors...

    Ideally you could get him on the same sort of contract we got Melky on after his short-lived part time web development job, not sure how that would pan out, though.

    30 is pretty old for an IFA, is there much precedent for guys that old coming out of Cuba and signing deals? I'd be down, but it wouldn't be someone I'd pay huge for (based on age, medical concerns and lack of a track record in the MLB...)
