  1. That was a pretty slick play by Bo. He seems to make a lot of the really difficult ones, and sometimes screws up easier plays. This is why I think he has it in him to be an elite shortstop, just needs to practice and get those fundamentals down.
  2. Iglesias is undoubtedly an upgrade, but the cost is something you really do have to consider. He makes too much for a reliever, and the term is too long. SURE if it was a 2 year deal you do that, but it wasn't and you can't just pretend that there is no future. I'm on record as saying I probably do that move if the prospect cost was basically nil, and I stand by that, but I'm also very okay with not making that specific move.
  3. 400' for LGJ, if he'd pulled that JUST a bit...
  4. Kikuchi's pitches looked crisp that inning. They often do over short stretches though, so we'll see how she goes.
  5. Okay, we've all had our say here on Merrifield's vaccination status etc. No more posts on the subject are required and I'll likely be deleting any future posts unless I feel they add something baseball related.
  6. Damn, missed opportunity there to cash in a few bonus runs.
  7. I'd still take him on an MiLB deal...
  8. B Mostly because I feel that this team had few needs, and they were filled adequately. The worst bullpen arms were replaced by considerably better arms, they got some starting depth (though moving Castillo makes that sort of lateral), and I guess Merrifield has some value to this team, particularly if it lets them punt Zimmer. Nothing sexy, but I still think this team is a very legitimate World Series contender.
  9. That looks a lot like a swing and miss reliever to me...
  10. The f***? They added two decent bullpen upgrades as well as a swing-man. I think you're just upset because we didn't snag any sexy names.
  11. Bass has literally been the 7th best reliever in baseball this season. Swing and miss is not everything. We improved our bullpen, added some starting depth and... I don't really know what Merrifield was for, but maybe it means Zimmer can f*** the f*** off?
  12. Are you suggesting that they should have moved Frasso from A ball to the MLB pen? I wanted to hang on to him too, but he definitely is not "exactly what the Jays need right now".
  13. Yeah, I guess they needed to clear a 40 man spot? Beasley has some interesting stuff.
  14. Yeah, but as usual when it comes to Terminator, it wasn't a GOOD joke.
  15. I kinda feel like letting Castillo go was a bad move, he could have provided some needed swing-man depth...
  16. Aug 2 Vladdy - 1 Point - Dylan, Deadpool Kirk - 2 Points - Hernández - 2 Points - Bichette - 2 Points - Chapman - 2 Points - Jano - 3 Points - Gurriel - 4 Points - Espinal - 6 Points - Tapia - 8 Points - Off the bench: 10 Points -
  17. I think you would be hard pressed to find a post from me that was panicking or crying for the Blue Jays to make a significant upgrade. My opinion on this team and their chances at the post season have not changed much at all this season.
  18. This team was a World Series contender this morning, and they've made some solid upgrades to their main weak spot. I really don't think this team needed any major changes. Only thing I'd like to add is depth, but that's harder to do at the trade deadline, since you want those sweet, sweet MiLB options.
  19. Got basically exactly what they needed to get, and there's still 2 hours to go to possibly get a bit extra.
  20. Pop the Bass... Meh, not a great pun, but I'll live with it.
  21. Do you think that Kirk and Espinal are in the same tier? Nobody here would have ached even a tiny bit over Espinal being moved in a deal for Soto...
  22. You need to up your backyard party game.
  23. The Jays, while right hand heavy as hitters, actually hit righties better than lefties, so getting an LH hitter isn't really necessary IMO. They'd need to have the speed and D of Zimmer and a better bat than Zimmer for me to really see a fit for an offensive upgrade. (I still think Lukes should be the guy, but apparently the FO doesn't agree with me...)
