That's always been a thing that happens, John Olerud didn't play a single game in the minors (until way later in his career). It's just a very rare thing, and I can't imagine that will change any time soon.

I've deleted a bunch of posts (as did BTS), not because they crossed any lines, but because I specifically said "no more on this subject". This forum has a history of not being able to handle certain topics without them getting far out of line, which is why we're more strict on anything that can be interpreted as politics.

He's pitched in 26 games, he's allowed 0 runs in 17 of those games in 15 of those games he's allowed 0 or 1 hits 9 of those outings were > 1 IP as well. More often than not, it's perfectly fine to use Thornton. Is he my first choice? Nope, but it's not like he's automatically giving up runs and s***.

Yep, extra few hours between games as it's a day game before a night game (I assume, haven't actually checked the schedule...) AND they're getting at least 3 fresh arms for tomorrow's game anyway.
