Where are you in the order in the 9th? If you are going throught the 1-2-3 or 2-3-4 then maybe you want to use your best reliever because you can't get to the 10th if you can't get through the 9th. But if you are down in the bottom of the order then ya use someone else i think.

I mean if you can use him like panda but only against LHP. I don't think he should ever see a RHP again, i don't know many teams though that would be willing to put a DH only player against LHP only on their bench. That could be the only value he could provide -

The only know on Ray was is walks and now that he seems to have that figured out i think he should be a great piece. Just need Pearson or Manoah to step up later this year. Or trade for something -
His Change looked good today. As long as his slider can be average which it has been the last 2 games (not counting today) he will be a very serviceable #2. It is getting the other 3 figured out. just got to hope Matz finds some middle ground between where he started and his last 3 games.

Lets say you go piggy back and say Strippling for 4 and Kay for 3 or so...... What if Strippling is dealing do you continue with him or is it a hard out. I can see starting pitchers being very upset with it.

This, 7IP is generally the max a pitcher will go anymore unless they are doing something special. I think if a starting pitcher gives 6innings that would be excellent.

I agree Kay is not the answer but if its the same thing as last year for Pearson where we get into the 4th inning with his pitch count in the 70s and 80s is it worth it. If he can't go deep in AAA I am sorry but its going to be even worse with the Jays.

I am not saying that he is blocking him i am guessing that since he only threw 70 pitches throught 3.2 innings they may want to see him go 5 or 6 before bringing him up. 1 start in may is not going to make or break our season make sure he is ready, as been mentioned before his injury track record is not great don't george springer this mother f***er.

This will be a telling year for Pearson. I am guessing he will get 1 maybe 2 more starts before taking over for Kay, Unless injury continues to f*** with us but this should be a telling year about what Pearson can do.

Thats the big thing that has helped him is he is not chasing as much which has always been his downfall. He is good with balls in the zone, he just has to get them into the zone and thats what he has been doing. Same can be said with any ball player though lol

Personal experience and dealing with unions they are good for bits and parts and making sure their employees are paid and treated well but if you have someone that is incompetent at their job and they have some seniority it is hard to get them fired.
