What do you guys think of Trading for Edwin Jackson in a salary kind of dump move for the Cubs?
His ERA is fugly, but he's put up a 3.91 FIP and 3.82 xFIP. He's striking out 8.53k/9 so he can still miss bats. Worth 1.0 fWAR so far this year and is known to be very durable. His BABIP has been one of the highest in his career this year @ 344. Good chance he puts up 180+ innings in the last 2 years of his contract.
Ricky Romero + Kyle Drabek ( i always hear that the Cubs like, not sure if that's actually true) for Edwin Jackson.
Why the Cubs do it? They get out of the Jackson contract and Romero is only signed through 2015 for less $ per year. They get a former top prospect who could still maybe be a nice bullpen piece or backend starter in the NL on the cheap.
