  1. has Springer always been a delicate flower, or is this a new thing?
  2. Young team, not yet in their contention window. This is how you learn to be a winner.
  3. "Her body, her choice"... every pro-choice advocate out there "don't judge people for their preferences in the bedroom"... every corporation during pride month "permanent scarring is fine if someone asks for it"....every tattoo artist Either you think that people should have significant leeway when it comes to matters of autonomy over their own body....or you do not.
  4. hadn't even thought of that. Will be interesting to see SR on Ryu after this game.
  5. If I didn't have epilepsy before watching games in this park, I do now.
  6. They kinda are.
  7. the crowd goes quiet when Vlad comes to the plate now, lol
  8. This is to backfill a AAA call up I assume
  9. What can we get fit Gurriels Hair at the deadline
  10. I'm ambivalent on whether or not Semian should get traded because I don't know the return. But exchanging assets/balance sheet for wins now in general doesn't seem like a smart organizational decision. How to maximize Semian's post trade-line WAR is beyond my pay grade, but I assume that Shatkins can find a way to shift Semian's wins to next year or the year after.
  11. No, I just think that I want the Jays to build a durable winner rather than a team that's always trading away assets. The holes we would need to fill as buyers: 1. An entire bullpen 2. Back end of the rotation and rotation depth 3. A third baseman 4. Catcher: we have a starter that can't hit, and a bunch of guys whose experience you count in innings rather than games. That's not a buy-at-the-deadline type of team that you can upgrade from .500 to a WS contender. It's not the window to buy this year.
  12. Springer is a long term signing. If Shatkins thought this was a win now year, then they are delusional. I assume they are being objective about where the Jays are on the curve. I guess if they want to cater to the fanbase instead of thinking long term they might be in buy mode. But this isn't the year.
  13. They're not winning much this year. It's fun to see them on the cusp. Shatkins should still be in maximizing asset management mode.
  14. If you don't sign him, I think it makes sense to trade him. The comp pick isn't good enough, and we're not in our window yet.
  15. Romano knows the playbook. A late lead cannot stand.
  16. That wasn't even really a mistake. 97 just off the plate and low
