I haven't spent much time over the years paying much attention to the minor leagues, outside of a small handful of top end prospects. That changed with Shapiro turning the Jays into an organization, not just an MLB team.
So what is the strategy going forward? It seems that teams either use their development organizations to bolster their MLB roster (most), or they use their MLB roster to bolster their minor league system, and promote (Rays). Maybe the Yankees or something are in the middle.
For the first time in forever, it seems we have high end minor leaguers getting blocked. I love it.
