  1. Ya ya, I know we lost yesterday but no one else was making one - so here we are. Also Tyler Alexander is a soft throwing lefty, keep your expectations tempered.
  2. --- From WnW: Detroit has been among the worst teams in the MLB this season, but the Tigers are trying to be productive during the second half. They got off to a slow start after the All-Star break, losing three straight games following a win over Oakland last Thursday. Detroit was able to bounce back with its series win over San Diego earlier this week, including Wednesday’s 4-3 victory in the rubber match. The Tigers will now be on the road for a seven-game trip that concludes at Minnesota next week. They are in fourth place in the American League Central, trailing the Twins by 12.5 games. The Tigers are also 13 games back of the final AL Wild Card spot. They have struggled to get much going at the plate this season, ranked No. 27 in team batting average (.229). Designated hitter Miguel Cabrera leads the way with 87 hits and a .287 average, while second baseman Jonathan Schoop has 75 hits. They will be facing a Toronto pitching staff that is No. 15 with an ERA of 3.93. Left-handed pitcher Tyler Alexander will be on the mound for Detroit on Thursday. He made his fourth start of the season coming out of the All-Star break, throwing three scoreless innings before handing the game over to the bullpen. Alexander is not fully stretched out as a starter, so he will likely be on a limited pitch count in this game. Toronto has been playing excellent baseball since the end of the first half of the season. The Blue Jays opened the second half with a three-game sweep at Boston, including a 28-5 win in their first game back. While they can’t be expected to score 20-plus runs on a weekly basis, the Blue Jays have been the best offensive team in the majors. They are hitting at a .268 clip, which is the best average in baseball. Toronto also ranks fifth among all clubs in home runs this season, hitting 127 long balls. The Blue Jays are still double-digit games behind the Yankees in the AL East, but they are holding onto the top AL Wild Card spot. Their dynamic lineup is led by shortstop Bo Bichette, who has racked up 104 hits and has driven in 52 runs. Star first baseman Vlad Guerrero Jr. has 103 hits, including 21 home runs, and he has a team-high 62 RBIs. They will be facing a Detroit pitching staff that is No. 20 with an ERA of 4.10. Starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi is going to be on the mound for Toronto on Thursday. He is being activated from the 15-day injured list after suffering a neck strain. Kikuchi threw 77 pitches during his rehab start, so he should be able to handle a decent workload in this game. He struggled prior to his injury, posting a 7.99 ERA in 23.2 innings over his last seven starts.
  3. Dun dun DUNNNNN (its probably just rest - no moreno or groshans ) Horwitz more time in LF tho - maybe, if not traded, comes in next year to replace Tapia or Zimmer? I think he has to make 40-man this year or rule-5 draft.
  4. Might be reporter fluff but it sounds like Rogers wants to win.
  5. Os about to take 3 of 4 from Rays. I think Os have a better shot at making the WC than Rays do lol. The 16 games we have left against them are pretty f***ing scary. At least, hopefully, Lopez and Santander will be somewhere else.
  6. Teams that concern us: Yankees lose; Red Sox lose; Rays win; Os lose; Mariners win; Guardians win; White Sox lose.
  7. That takes them out of Soto sweepstakes most likely, at the least.
  8. Ah well; get em tomorrow. 8 - 2 in the last 10.
  9. Ya Banda is getting DFA'd - can't be this inconsistent every time you're out
  10. That outside strike call against us is tragic. lol
  11. Astros got swept by the As. Baseball happens. Besides their ace is pitching like an ace.
  12. And we got to Pujols, oh boy; good pull Schneider.
  13. Nice K; if we get out of this before Pujols, we'll be fine
  14. That curve is actually insane by Wainwright atm
  15. lol nice bounce; 115 EV right into the ground
