  1. Oh, I wasn't aware that Edwin was the third best hitter in Major League Baseball. I guess that would change my opinion of the deal then.
  2. How many more years do you think Edwin has before he begins to decline? If the choice is between trading him to acquire a legitimate pitcher who we will probably be able to resign once all these other contracts come off the books, and then having to be a little creative to replace his production, or spending a ludicrous amount of money on a Jimenez/Garza type and retaining Edwin and hoping he continues to produce, I'm taking the former. By next offseason people will be wanting to trade Edwin before he loses all his value like people want to do with Bautista right now.
  3. I love this. Do whatever it takes to get Price. An elite pitcher is harder to come by than a 1B/DH type.
  4. Is there another Holden Caulfield prowling around Blue Jays message boards? haha
  5. If you're referring to me, that's incorrect.
  6. Hey, I know it sounds like normal troll BS but I guess you're just going to have to take my word for it. My friend isn't the type to make up stories. I'm unaware of the context or location of this "board". edit: direct to Hurl
  7. Well he's generally a desirable player, and acquiring a reliable hitter could make the prospect of trading Bautista more realistic.
  8. How about a swap of Rasmus and someone for Butler and a good pitching prospect? Do you guys think that is plausible?
  9. Other notes: -this was seen over a month ago -Brett Anderson also listed -Several second basemen
  10. I have a friend who works for the Royals in Arizona and he told me that there is a bulletin board with names of players they're interested in acquiring and Colby Rasmus was listed.
  11. I'll always have a soft spot for the Pirates. My grandfather was a huge fan from way back when they were originally good, and he died just before they started contending again :/
  12. Why is it Cleveland's place to discuss this though? Shouldn't they be concerned with their own futility? They'll fade in the dog days of summer just like they do every year.
  13. Cleveland is the trashiest, filthiest, most disgusting city I've ever been in and all the games I've been to at Progressive Field have had Marlins-level attendance.
  14. If Johnson continues to play the way he has, he may have no other choice but to accept the qualifying offer, then we'd be stuck with him at ~$14MM. Trade him if we can get anything of value.
  15. First Gibby drinking Diet Pepsi sighting of the year (for me at least)!
  16. Did anyone really think we were getting out of this without the Rays scoring a run one way or another? Our pitchers can't pitch with leads.
  17. What is it with journeymen like Loney going to the Rays and suddenly finding their swing?
  18. ...and here comes our mandatory runs given up after we score.
  19. My Internet stops working and Lind hits a homer. That's like missing Haley's comet.
  20. ...and as soon as I say that, the feed on vipbox craps out. Classic.
  21. Can't believe I ever wasted money on mlb.tv. I've been able to find an illegal stream of almost every game this season.
  22. Yeah. Tonight's game almost feels like a must win if we don't want to lose the series.
  23. I'm new. Long time reader of the bluejays.com forum, but I always felt it was too overpopulated to bother posting in.
