NBA, NFL and NHL all have a time limit for the action to complete the game. A clock in those sports was always necessary. In baseball the inning ends with 3 outs, not a timer. Not so hard to understand the difference is it?
If you're a kid with a short attention span it fits the bill for you. A baseball game with thinking and strategy is not for you so you just want rush rush action. Bringing up extremes like Dolis is a poor argument. I appreciate all the nuances of the game in a relaxed atmosphere. The game was never intended to include a clock that will penalize players. Where are the historical statistics for that?

A clock has no business being in a baseball game... NONE. They are ruining the game for the sake of shortening the time it takes to play it. Rush rush rush.... how f***ing stupid is that. And two throws only to first base, another stupid rule.
