I think it was just the idea of how much work he had put in to being an elite defensive 3B over the last 3 years. Then the thought of being moved back to where he originally started. Kinda like "make up your mind guys". I'm guessing he wants to be the best possible player he can, and to achieve that it takes many,many hours of practice on the finer things at each position.

I feel like Brett Lawrie is getting no love. He has done whatever the team has asked, he is playing 3b and 2b in a pinch (great d at both) and has come up HUGE in key situations at the plate. -
