  1. The nature of the beast...it will only get worse my man. Just try and ignore the people you know are dumber than a f***ing bowl of captain crunch. They're not worth your time.
  2. Lincoln has really good stuff, but he seems to get himself into trouble sometimes in stupid ways. But his fastball is a plus pitch and his curveball is f***ing mint.
  3. I don't know what game you were watchingt but he was up in the zone all night long and he's lucky to only have allowed 6. He didn't walk many but he had no command of any of his pitches whatsoever. On at least 10 occsions, he missed so badly it was downright laughable and he knew it. He was so angry at himself.
  4. Yeah, Gose has a canon for an arm. And yeah, Melky runs like he got f***ed in the arse by Ron Jeremy when the fat f*** could actually get it up.
  5. Good girl JP. No DP and no k and actually advanced the runners? Too bad we only get to see this type of game from him twice a year.
  6. I'm starting to think last years Morrow was a fluke. He's shown absolutely zero ability to command his fastball. Throwing letter high meatballs to Markakis, Jones and Davis, what a joke. I'd rather him pump it back up to 97 0r 98 if he's going to lack command anyhow. He seems to have no ability whatsover to command that fastball to either corner. Even when Jp was tapping the ground to ask for the BB down, he hung it both times and even left one up and in. If the guy we saw last year doesn't return, I don't think this team stands any chance of coming back in this division. If they do, the playoffs with no depth in SP will be an early exit. He's another guy who needs to throw some side sessions, with focus on spotting that fastball where he intends to. Without that, he's not even a poor mans A.J Burnett. I hope Gibbons slaps him around or at least tries to. He gets mad at himself after hanging 30 f***in' meatballs tonight? Lucky he only gave up 6.
  7. I'm just wondering how many guys are going to go up there against Kuroda, surprised he's throwing them off speed stuff. They should make the adjustment by the seventh or eight, when it's time for him to hand the ball over.
  8. I wish someone would tell these guys to go up there and sit on the splitter and change. Ridiculous. Almost every single pitch is off speed and nobody is making the adjustment. I said it before the game started...wait on the f***ing breaking ball FFS, his fastball isn't good enough to beat you. Yet you have Bautista and EE up there, seemingle with no idea the off speed stuff is coming. Did he even throw Jose a fastball, yet the guy still looks like an idiot flailing away? It's frustrating as a fan to sit here and pretty much know what the guy is going to throw, yet the pros seem utterly confused. Let's see how long it takes them to make the adjustment, it at all. WTG Mark, a leadoff triple up in the zone yet again. Does this f***ing guy throw anything down at all or is EVERYTHING letter high right over the plate?
  9. Yeah, the shame of it all is that when he's going well, he's hitting line drives up the right center field alley. Then he goes back to trying to pull everything and being ridiculously out front on off speed pitches. What really bugs me about him is when you see pitchers putting 90-92 mph fastballs by him, one after another. The guy has to be able to excel at hitting at least one type of pitch and thus far, he has shown none of that. Not to mention he can't catch or block the ball to his right for s***. I've seen 12 year olds that show better mechanics back there. It's ridiculous that he made it to MLB as a catcher.
  10. His career number are pretty decent, I just find he's way overrated. He seems to keep it together for a stretch and then blows up for a bit, but his overall numbers are fairly impressive. I'm not quite sure why though, because to me, his stuff isn't up to par with an above average pitcher. As a hitter, I'd sit and wait for soft stuff from him because his fastball isn't good enough to beat you. His command is good though, but I'd definately wait for off speed from this type of pitcher and tee off. They had him on the ropes last time out and let off the gas. I just don't see him as any better than a .500 pitcher.
  11. Lawrie has looked just fine to me. I've seen him make a few plays that no other third basemen would make. I think that range wise, Lawrie definately tops that list for sure. I'm not sure how anyone could actually consider him a negative so far, never mind a definite negative. He came back off an injury that didn't allow him to swing that bat much so I'm not sure what you expected in that regard. You've also got to factor in how bad of a position the jays were in when he came back. Any ball player, never mind a high strung guy like Brett, would have been wanting to do way too much to help his team right away. His start was no different than Melky's, he looked rusty and off balance...and that goes for most of the players to that point. I don't know if you expected him to step on the field with no rust or anxiety, but it's obvious that's what happened and that's completely normal. I've expected pretty much exactly what we've gotten from him thus far, an anxious kid trying to do too much because he wants his team to win after watching the atrocious start they had. His defense has actually been pretty good and at times, utterly spectacular. He's made a few barehand grabs and started a couple of double plays on balls where it looked like there was no chance for him to touch the ball, never mind turn a double play. Hi swing is still a bit wild right now, but his movement is starting to regress naturally and it shows in the line drive contact he's making instead of ooposite field pop ups and outright whiffs.
  12. I can see balls and strikes being a bit tedious, but I'd like to see something along the lines of an NFL instant replay policy adopted. Where manages get 2 or 3 challenges per game and maybe have to sacrifice an out or something if the call is not overturned. I hate seeing 1 run games in the ninth where a team has 2 runners on and the ump makes a bad call to end an at bat. Or a check swing call goes the same way and helps end the game. I know I said balls and strikes might be tedious, but I think if they just limited the challenges it would be ok. How many times have we even seen a guy score at home and an ump make a horrific call that changes the outcome of a game? Guys not even getting tagged at home plate and the ump makes an out call, completely changing momentum of the game. I don't think it's just me, I've been watching this game for 3 decades, but the umpires are getting worse and worse all the time. Worse yet, they are becoming uber aggressive when confronted. I think there needs to be an avenue to show these f***ing idiots that they're not right all the time. Close games in the ninth are being decided so many times by bad f***ing calls and something needs to be done about it. About the only penalty I can think of for a bad challenge would be an out, which would definately make things more interesting for managers who decide to challenge a call in the ninth when they are down, but maybe that's what is needed so that teams aren't challenging every debateable call.
  13. To me, good pitching and the yankees don't belong in the same sentence this year. That Kuroda guy is garbage and he is achieving wayyyyyyy over his head. It's about that time when he starts getting pounded game in and game out. CC is still good and Pettite isn't bad, but the rest of their rotation sucks ass. Just like the bosox, this team is going to start a losing streak soon and a bad one at that. Nothing on their team dictates to me that they will be able to continue on this pace. The entire lineup is playing over their heads with the exception of Cano. If we play good defense and keep up the timely hitting, two out of three won't be all that difficult. And the last time R.A faced C.C, we had the lead late and blew it. Can't let that happen again.
  14. Have a shot? Really? I have 1k or more that says they finish above .500 if you wanna take that bet. Any dependable gent willing to hold the money?
  15. Maybe it will help him throw the ball over the f***ing plate? For a guy who bitched and f***ing moaned about how he deserved a spot, he's shown command that rivals Romero's and he's not far off from being in Ricky's shoes.
  16. True enough. With his history, it makes me wonder as well. Replacing him will be an enormous bullet to bite.
  17. I agree with you bro. Every aspect of their game has been f***ing atrocious pretty much. But knowing the game as you do, you know that these things even themselves out right? At times, I couldn't believe how bad they were. In one game where we pulled a run closer against the sox, JPA allowed two passed balls to give the insurance run back, only to have one of our guys hit a solo jack in the eighth that would've most likely tied the game. They were shooting themselves in the foot at every turn. See how the Sox were beasting it at one point? My friend at work is a fan of theirs and I told them they were going to bomb soon and he told me I obviously didn't watch much baseball. But looking at their team, it was obvious they were going to tank and to be honest, I don't even see them as a .500 team this year. My point is that extremes change and even each other out. what's left in between is talent, and the jays are bursting with it, whether it's living up to it's potential right now or not. But in most cases, it is talent and depth that takes over. Look at Melky, he looked like an idiot for a strtch. He looked so off balance that people wondered if he was going to hit at all. All of a sudden, he is rifling line drives everywhere, to all fields. For a stretch, they were hitting just over .140 with RISP. Now, they are 13 of their last 26 with 30 runs in their last 3 games. The defence isn't giving games away anymore. Defence...when you look at it? So far this year, our defence has been directly responsible for 6 of our losses. If you factor even 3 of thos losses out, it turns a 14-24 record to a record of 17 and 21. There are a lot of variables that have contributed to this atrocious start. But it has happened before and more often than you might think. A few years back, the sox started 2- 12 and ended up winning the division. The jays themselves started the season worse and came back to win the division. But talent alone tells you that things will improve drastically. I think we're going to see R.A make the biggest difference going forward. He is a true ace despite what some people think. If a guy like Wakefield can be successful in the East, Dickey will be much better than he ever was. Gotta believe that a guy like Johnson, with a career ERA of only 3.20 isn't going to struggle for long. Hopefully he pitches enough for us to make a difference is my only concern. I truly believe that this team is built to sustain a few very large winning streaks over the course of a this season. I would not be surprised to see them win 10 in a row 3 times or more. The dog days of summer will tell the tale for this team. When JJ and Reyes come back, I think we'll see a more relaxed team, now that the dark days have passed. Sorry if it seemed as if I was belittling you but that was not my intent. This post was aimed at nik2013. Wasn't talking to myself again.
  18. I'm predicting 2 out of 3. If they don't? You can give me a good stiff kick in the nuts if we ever meet. lol
  19. Ramon Ortiz- a beast I never realized we had! LOOOL Bautista- Jose is Jose and you gotta love him Casey- What a gem. Love seeing this guy pitch every single time out. No nonsense, straight to the point pitcher. Lind- OPS is very good for him. If his power comes around, this team is going to be very difficult to stop EE- Good power numbers and he's getting his patience back....err, if it's possible to lose it This team has formidable offensive potential. Guys like Rasmus, Lind, Lawrie, JPA, all have 20-25 hr numbers to put up and EE and Jose 40+. That's 6 out of your 9 guys. If Reyes and Boni get some games behind them and do what they're capable of doing, it's no wonder the hype behind this team was so enormous. Not even mentioning Melky yet because I'm not sure what he'll be post Juice. The last 4 games are just a glimpse of what an offensive juggernaut this team can become in a ballpark built for offense.
  20. An abyss? Watch baseball much? Have you seen Boni commit three errors and Izturis drop and easy pop up and throw away a dp ball at first, extending innings several times, costing us games? Have you seen the passed balls and the ATROCIOUS run of hitting under the mendoza line with RISP? My point is that these things even themselves out. Did you see SF commit two eroors in the 1st innings two nights in a row, leading to huge innings that put both games away early? Have you noticed Melky, Bautista and several others starting to hit in the clutch? As bad as things were, they will swing just as dramatically the other way. It will take the pressure of guys like Buerhle and Johnson and allow the team to relax and start winning. The team started badly, but they've started just as badly before and gone on to win the division. Calling it an abyss when seven games under through 40 games is just a tad dramatic don't you think?
  21. What? They sucked at Tropicana Field even worse and if Delebar hadn't given up that homerun to Yunel who was hitting a buck seventy, we would've taken 3 out of 4 over there. The jays bats are booming right now and the Yanks are well on their way down. Winning two out of three isn't far fetched and I wouldn't be surprised to see them take all 3. I haven't forgotten they are 7 games under, but a lot of things have contributed to that, mainly bad defence and a lack of timely hitting and run production. Neither of which seem to be a problem for us right now whatsoever.
  22. I hope so man, I'm just a little worried that it will turn into a repeat of last year. Although many think he is inconsistent, I think he took gigantic steps towards becoming our ace. Seeing him throw thos CG'S last year in under a hundred pitches and seeing him pitch so consistently gave me visions of a guy who could potentially become a CY candidate. A little inconsistency this far but I'm really aching to see what this guy can do over 30+ starts.
  23. I keep saying that I think this division is soooooo wide open. There is not a team in this division that we have to worry about running away with it. Everyone is having their problems with pitching, not just us. I'm not actually sure who is in the worst shape in this division. As much as I want to think last year was a fluke for Baltimore, I think they are most likely the team to beat in the east this year. Price hasn't been himself all year and outside of Moore, their entire staff has been a question mark this year and will continue to be. With no Price and Hellickson and Hernandez being nothing special, their rotation is relying on two rookies in Cobb and Moore. As good as they are, they are basically both rookies and will probably hit that wall sooner or later. When they do, that team is in real trouble because outside of Rodney, their bullpen sucks ass. The Bosox? LMFAO...Lackey, Doubront and a hit and miss Dempster. With a guy made of glass like Bucholz who is pitching way over his head......and their closer out for the year..and Bailey being injured. That team is falling fast and with good reason. When Pedroia and Ortiz don't hit, that team could easily be the worst in the division. Which leads me to the Yanks...Hughes, nice game today pal. Petite and CC could carry this team for a bit and carry it they will have to. They've performed well til now with our garbage like Wells and Overpay, but like the bosox, that will run out. All it will take is a series against Texas, just like what started the sox freefall, and they will be hurtin' just the same. IMO, the daunting AL East isn't so big and bad anymore. There seems to be more parity in the AL than I can remember for a long f***ing time. The Jays start wasn't all that bad considering how vulnerable the rest of the division is. I know, the jays really sucked willnots for a strtch there, but it's certainly not anything they can't come back from, especially considering the mediocrity in this division right now.
