  1. If they can buy their way out of that lease and Montreal builds a stadium I really think they would move . that city just doesn't deserve a team
  2. Dave Stewart is the new GM in AZ. With LaRussa pulling his strings
  3. Does anyone think AA is building this team more toward 2016 with his moves ?
  4. Yep. All the love they get on this board yet they haven't drafted well and their system is pretty bare
  5. These are both talented prospects. BA hasn't done AZ,s top ten but won't surprise me it they had ranked there. BA tends to rank younger talent higher than others.
  6. I knew Chase was a hitters park but was thinking about the big parks in that division , forgot about Coors thou. Still he does get the pitchers spot every 9 batters. Rays need to bolster a poor farm system. They just don't have the talent in the system they used to have.
  7. Hellickson is a back of rotation starter. Steamer projects 0.4 war but he might do better in the NL West.
  8. Always been talked about that he needs to move to 2nd. he has played 58 games at 2nd with a UZR of 0.4 I think he is the kind of guy that his bat has to be above average.
  9. And the cost cutting continues in Tampa. Outfielder Justin Williams part of the deal and one more prospect
  10. Every off season some one posts moving players all over the field creating two holes to fill one . Having two play out of position makes no sense at all but we go thru this every year That said the advantage of not having a permanent DH allows guys like Reyes, Bautista, etc etc to rotate thru the DH spot when they tweak something or just to get a rest as long as you have a Brock Holt type guy on the bench. Moot point as it never happens. Teams just don't have that player and If Smoak hits he is a big improvement over EE at 1st B so Edwin will DH
  11. After Cito tried to get him fired Wilner only states what is good for the Jays. Since that isn't good news for the Jays he denies it. I could see a deal for Kendrick shaping up and him vetoing the trade
  12. Can we possibly hope this comes back to bite Boras . If MLB proved this couldn't he be banned
  13. I think it is more about Searage. Guy must be the best in the game right now. Turned around a lot of careers. I expect AJ to have a good year.
  14. Lowrie can't play shortstop on Grass so I don't know how he can expect to be passable on our turf. I really covet Martin but he is going to get that 5th year and I don't do that .
  15. Got it on the two picks but Much rather have Moncada. Left fielders are a hell of a lot easier to replace than a 3rd baseman/2nd baseman and in spite of the 100 % tax he will be cheaper.
  16. Which is why i don't like the 4th year and absolutely hate the 5th year.
  17. Your not losing two picks unless you sign both. but I should have put in the 3rd option of neither
  18. Detroit generally trades their prospects so they are in sad shape but the worst Angels have nothing left.
  19. This is from Badlers BA write up on the deal. I posted it on page ten of this thread Travis missed six weeks early in the season with an oblique injury, and the effects carried over into May, but from June on he batted .312/.379/.481.
  20. 3/50 Christ I thought he wanted 4/50 , He isn't getting that. Yes I knew martin would be favored by most . I really like Martin , I just don't like the 4th year for either
  21. You missed the sarcasm in that post . i got a chuckle over it Martin wanted to play for Canada in the last WBC but only if he could play SS.
  22. I guess I should have had neither as the 3rd option. I like martin but 15 mil is too much and those last couple of years will probably suck
  23. Which would you rather have
  24. Well he has made more moves this year than last and we aren't in Dec. I like the waiver claims of Smoak and Dirks because they cost little to DFA them if they don't win a spot. 1/6 th of a few million about 500 k . I see the Lind deal as a cost cutting move but also to open up the DH spot for resting people thru that spot unless Smoak takes the 1st base job. Defense needs and should be better even with navy behind the dish . i also see this team being as good or better in 2016. The only real potential loss is Buehrle and we will have some starters ready to jump in . If he has money he will improve the positions of need , If not well the moves he already made will be even more important.
  25. But if you have no one to spend the money on then is it really an issue ? If trading Happ got us a 1.5 war upgrade at another position then I,m fine with that. What is the difference in cost of Estrada and Happ 2.5 mil . If Steamer is right that is a pretty cheap 1 WAR. Yes I'm eating a lot of crow over Happ after s***ing on him all last spring but his velocity trending up has me keeping him for the two and a half mil over Estrada. Estrada fits in a big ball park but like Melvin said " Estrada isn't suited for our ball park " and if he isn't for theirs he sure as hell isn't for the AL east parks.
