  1. Obviously if I'm a rebuilding team, I want the draft pushed as far back as possible. The main reason being that with already cramped farms/picks: a) I get more time to see who is legit/who I should be letting go I get more time to make a trade to clear space I like that pushing it back would give more security with your picks. What I don't like is that it will be significantly harder to find gems in our draft. By August, players will have played over 80% of their season. All the midseason rankings will be out, and everyone will have a pretty clear cut value heading into 2015. I like how everything is more ambiguous in June. You get rewarded for doing your research. I don't think that many people got bit by non-signings last year. If you did, you still have the option of holding onto the player. Plus, as someone else mentioned, you can factor signability into your MiLB pick giving it most realism anyway.
  2. I agree completely and it would give go to a vote.
  3. Since Hurl is away right after the draft we should cross off 1. It should be: a) draft starting a week after the Rule 4 (or when hurl is back) draft starting immediately after the deadline
  4. Yeah like mine. I offered 34th overall before the season started. In hindsight it seems so awful but at the time I actually justified it in my head.
  5. This is what I had in mind though. Parting with the 23 or 34 to people who realize the premium value of the higher picks. You can't say 23 for 33 < 60 for 90 because one is a 30 pick upgrade over a 10 pick upgrade.
  6. Something like this is a reasonable offer. It's two picks before the significant drop off in pick value, and 52 isn't bad for a 16 pick downgrade. I'll keep it in mind z3r0s. We're still a week or two away from the cutoff!
  7. Exactly. I'm not going to lie about it. I'm looking for a pick deal where I win value wise, but where it's still better than the other party wasting the value of their picks. If I can't find a deal like this, I'll just use my current four picks to fill out my farm. That being said, I still don't think a deal like 34 for 61 + 93 is even close to "lateral value".
  8. I couldn't disagree more. For me, there's no real difference between 50-60 and 120. You can still find breakout A/AA players in the first 40 picks. At 55+ the picks become more of a lottery ticket. I place little to no value on anything past 90 because there's a 90% chance they end up being my cut guys for the 2015 draft. You and I aren't a great fit. I'm looking for a team that has a loaded farm with their back against the wall. A team that would rather take a 10 spot upgrade than see a mid-round pick go to waste.
  9. If any team is in a serious pick bind, feel free to get creative with a pick for pick trade offer to me. I probably won't do anything unless it's a serious discount.
  10. Everything is going right for this offense. It's unreal.
  11. Thank god Speedy went to bed before 2:00 last night.
  12. Yordano won't make his start vs Toronto this weekend according to MLBTR.
  13. I tried this last year and ended up throwing most of my picks down the drain. I'm just going to rank a top 50 this year (since I only have 4 picks) to make my life easier.
  14. I think you've officially passed z3r0s for league bet farm.
  15. The draft is the June 7th weekend so we'll probably start ours a few days after. I'm so excited (even though I haven't done any research yet). Anyone know when the cut down deadline is?
  16. That's going to look very creepy to speedy since he probably doesn't know why I'm laughing.
  17. I wonder if Speedy goes to bed early or not........................
  18. Blatant bribery being displayed right here?? Shall we suspend Edwin from his team for a week to teach him a lesson??
  19. This trade could look very bad, or very good. It potentially has the most polarizing outcomes of any trade ever completed in the DDL. I can't wait!
