I don't think anyone will ever come close to Bonds' prime scariness. We're talking wOBAs of .540. His OBP actually topped .600 in 2004.
That being said, Miggy is doing this in the post-steroid era. He has been remarkably consistent and should have some great years left ahead.
A couple games ago he had a 3-0 count. I thought we were finally going to see a walk. He battled back, lengthened his swing, and eventually was able to strike out. It was a close call.
I'm surprised they pitched to Jose. I know it's harder with the bases loaded, but I really expected Maddon to walk him with the way he's been locked in today.
