  1. Don't you say that about my new stud player!
  2. yup, two years running that my 2b is going to suck. I guess I can pray on Schoop not sucking cock, but I gotta have someone in case that doesn't fly.
  3. I was more commenting on how nobody liked the deal even when we thought we were WS contenders. People weren't in despair mode because the team looked a lot better, but everyone instantly thought it was a VAST overpay when they found out that Syndergaard was heading there as well.
  4. Not just bad when you look back at all. We were all sick when we heard that the 'second prospect' was Syndergaard. Bad move was bad right from the start.
  5. I love the Paco pick, he was on my short list.
  6. So whats up with that Spanky guy these days? Both picks have been pretty drawn out.
  7. You better... my rotation was/is god awful without Shields.
  8. Not quite, If we kept JJ we would probably be looking at a gain of 9-10 wins instead of the 8 wins.
  9. I traded him Shields (and Morse) for Rodney, Yordano, and Giolito.
  10. ZiPS has crabs... bad move Jeter.
  11. I was considering him, but then I figured I'm not going anywhere this season is I replace Reyes with Jeter for any big part of the season. projections are not flattering on Jeter
  12. Cats Ass and I have picked. Sammy is up.
  13. the man needs weighted balls

Will be interesting to follow what happens with Lowry. A consistent presence at the point might be the key to keep this going year after year, but he has concerns with him as well.
  15. If anyone wants to trade for my pick at 22 (either swapping waiver picks, or moving me up in the MiLB draft) I'd be open.
  16. we all hate you for delaying us... we want our RP's!!!
  17. You all shut your whoreish mouths! Tanaka will be Darvish!!! /sarcasm would be nice
  18. Yup, just give an advantage to the team that looses the player. I also think you should only get compensation on players that haven't been FA's before. IE the Yanks don't get comp from losing a FA they sign for a year.
  19. Doesn't get away from punishing the player for being good. How about the Rays get 20% more bonus (from nobody)?
  20. Tough to say, I think players know how unlikely it is to make it in baseball (or at least their agents should). Would you bet 400k on yourself making it when it might be your only payday?
  21. I haven't really thought about it in enough depth to come up with specific, but I think ALL sports need to develop a system where teams have a significant advantage in ability to keep players they developed (but without stupid rules like the franchise tag in football). Sports need dynasty teams. Its boring when the same teams snap up all the free agents and buy their legacy. Its equally frustrating when a team of home-grown guys get torn apart due to free agency.
  22. The contract the Yankees signed him too was not a good contract. The one the Rangers signed him to could be considered ok. He was worth 70.1 WAR in the 10 years after the original rangers contract was signed. Not sure how much a WAR was worth at that point, but they would only play $3.59M per win.
