Anyone think its a better deal trading for Weeks than picking up Drew? Weeks should just be a salary dump and Drew costs you a draft pick.
I don't mind Drew because he is a sound defensive SS if Reyes goes down, but Weeks certainly offers a higher upside with the stick
The problem with Sierra is that scouts seem to like him quite a bit, and you don't want to give up on a guy too soon (see Bautista with the Pirates).
For the amount of WAR at stake (upgrade a bench spot) I'm not sure its worth losing him for nothing.
I don't disagree, but what is the mechanic then? Do you really like the 'race' to be the first guy to pick CJ at an arbitrary time the day of / day after he plays his first AA game?
ok, I have defended the 'Kal's Whoppers' when they have been criticized on here. I think the joke is getting a bit tired, but it doesn't bother me. But lets try to keep it to the Kal thread... not bring it up in a non-related thread.
So proposed new rule;
Prospects who finished the year below the AA level (and therefore an not eligible to be added to a MLB roster) and has not reached the MLB may not be added to a teams roster prior to the MiLB draft.
This allows people to take Eddie Butler types in the Waiver draft (which I think we want) but avoid a clunky mechanic to determine who gets CJ Edwards types when they are added to the AA roster at the start of the year. This keeps the crop of high minor prospects more attractive for the MiLB draft.
Darryl's what do you think? If you like it, do we vote on it?
