  1. I think we are all fairly confident that this won't be the year it is all torn down (unless we go on an EPIC losing streak), and I'm fine with that. If we miss the playoffs this year, we can give it one more go and if it doesn't go well, you can deal both EE and JB at next years deadline while they still have a year and a bit of control.
  2. Just listened to Jeff Blair brag about how high Melky's BABIP was... like it was some sort of badge of honor. ITS EVEN HIGHER THAN MIKE TROUTS!!! I'm pleasantly surprised Melky's BABIP is as low as it is.
  3. I think its only fair to the board to let us know who this chick is.
  4. Good god the girl in your avatar is stacked John... truly an asset to this board.
  5. does that put me outside the 'awful' category? I moved up a spot, but I don't know about my expected wins.
  6. Being that close to Kolek would just be depressing
  7. I think Lorenzo Cain is your man. His defense alone makes him valuable
  8. I could deal Straily, but my preference is to move Montero. Feel free to shoot me an offer on Staily if you're interested tho.
  9. Anyone want to take a shot stashing J. Montero? He's flashed some in the minors, but I can't afford to hold him and Straily as N/A players on my roster. Best offer takes him likely.
  10. Good to hear you wouldn't have done it, now I can not sweat the decision . I have been trying to trade Garza for a while now and I didn't like any of my offers. It seems you had the market right when you said Kendrick was good value. I took the gamble on Dee because he has the potential to be an impact producer in the SB category. Kendrick is way more consistent, but isn't an impact guy in any category. I guess Dee has age on his side too. I guess we'll see what happens.
  11. I chose Dee over Kendrick... this is either going to go really good, or REEEEAAAALLLLLY bad.
  12. I'm looking to shop; - Matt Garza or Dan Straily (one of the two) - Domonic Brown - James Loney - Lorenzo Cain Looking to get a longer term solution at 2b or 3b. Would include any 2b/3b on my roster (Plouffe or Dietrich) in those deals if it helped get it done. I'd also look at a trade to upgrade my picks (ie pick 20+ someone above for a higher pick). I'm not looking to get Robinson Cano here, just an upgrade.
  13. everyone loves what Pompey is doing this year, but the guy is sitting on a .426 BABIP. Let him keep playing in high A.
  14. I guess Giolito fell farther than I thought (16). Either way that is working out pretty well for the Nats.
  15. and I don't see Hoffman slipping that far in the draft at all. See Lucas Giolito.
  16. Gordon at 2! Crazy, even if it is for 'under slot' BS. I think I can put my thoughts of getting him at 9 to bed.
  17. 3 bat in the top 6 is a little different than we've seen in other lists so far.
  18. I was high on Gatewood for a while, but everything I read says he has contact issues. If we draft a hitter, I really want them to have a feel for hitting, not just tools. Gordon intrigues me, I'd be happy with him at 11. Gordon and Hoffman anyone?
  19. I was thinking about that too but I wasn't sure which spot is better to move down from if he doesn't sign and chooses to try again next year.
  20. Intriguing for sure.
  21. I have zero problem playing Lawrie at 2b while we have a better second option at 3b than 2b right now. Playing him at SS is dumb.
  22. We just need to refine the process. I think we could have a replay system that would create some buzz. If you have a dedicated reply guy in EACH stadium (who is actually good at his job) and just have one of those secrete service ear pieces in the crew chiefs ear, calls could be made WAY faster (and on each questionable play). You could take out all the managers trundling their fat asses to the fat ass umps who then trundle over the the headsets. There is enough time between each AB to do this anyway.
