  1. can some commish complete the trade between KK and I. He owns the #59 pick now.
  2. oh Dee Gordon, your unsustainable BABIP is just great
  3. yuuuuup... today on the Fan.
  4. I just heard Wilner say that Norris, Sanchez, and Hoffman are both ahead of Synder, so case closed.
  5. So what are the thoughts on me and SG's Mike Foltynewicz for Chris Young swap? He proposed it out of nowhere, and I couldn't turn down a 23 year old former top 100 guy for a 36 year old waiver claim having a good season. What should I make of my new acquisition? I'll take a chance on any pitcher with an 80 FB, but do I have another Sanchez on my team?
  6. If Keith Law doesn't like a prospect, he ain't gunna do s***!
  7. I've thought about it, but its hard to spend a keeper spot on a reliever who isn't a lock (says the guy who carried Ryan Cook )
  8. I have the strangest web of positional back-ups for my IF 2B - Gordon, Russell, Schoop SS - Russell, Kang 3B - Seager, Kang, Guerrero, Schoop I'm not in a rush to move anyone, having a backup at all those positions is nice... but if someone is looking for a trade, that could be a place to start (I need a bopper at 1B or a pitcher)
  9. yup, own him in a redraft and its uber frustrating.
  10. can some commish push me and KK's minor deal through?
  11. I believe the prospect sheet needs to be updated as Min still has Finnegan
  12. I think umps on the field will be required for quite a long time to call all the other rules of the game, including out/safe calls (which can be reviewed by video if needed).
  13. That is not an issue that will be hard to overcome with current tech.
  14. Looking to deal Michael Morse and Ender Inciarte. I understand the returns will not be huge, would probably deal either for a pick. Ender might be half-ass useful (has been so far) for teams looking for steals. Morse is the opposite. Hasn't been useful, but the HR potential means he could be mildly useful.
  15. But this isn't the case for balls/strikes in baseball.
  16. There are two things I'd point out about your response. 1) This isn't a debate about the Jays and their staff, but rather baseball in general. 2) Adjusting to the umps zone is part of baseball as it is currently played, but it isn't really part of how baseball SHOULD be played. Umpires were the best resource available for many years to implement the rules of the game. It is very likely that they are not anymore. Umpires should not be mistakenly considered part of the game.
  17. I don't get the idea that people like human error as part of the game either. The best games are those where you don't think twice about the ump. Take a minute to think about your sentiment. I like having umps because they are sometimes wrong and affect the game by messing with what the count should really be. I enjoy putting them in a situation where they can not possibly be right all of the time. But if they are TOO wrong, TOO often, then I don't like it and they should be punished for being wrong.
  18. I don't get the idea that a person would miss framing because it is a skill. You know what else is a skill? Hitting the corners with a pitch. Having real (terrible compared to a computer) umps takes that skill away. One is a way bigger part of baseball than the other. Robo-umps would lead to a way better game and could be integrated without changing the 'feel' of the game at all by still using ump with an earpiece. In fact, if it was me, I would implement them without telling the public. You can let it slip years later so the purists can't bitch at the time its implemented and will see how much better a consistent zone is. Robo-umps would also allow the league to tinker with the zone to allow for more/less runs. The strike-zone isn't exactly as the textbook defines it right now, and has changed over the years. This would just make it more precise.
  19. I've official moved from an over-performing middle of the pack team, to and under-performing middle of the pack team... I'm so proud of you guys insert clever names!
  20. The most BS part of the ump thing is that if it was ever implemented, I think it would change the minds of even the opposition pretty damn quickly. It wouldn't affect the enjoyment of the game to anyone. If I was heading up the umpires union, I would be getting on board with "assisted" strike calling ASAP. There will always (or at least for a long time) be a need for on-field ump to call safe/out on the bases, and a bunch of other calls on the field. If the home plate ump had a ear-piece discretely assisting balls/strikes calls, the quality would rise immediately, and the calls for change would go away (for the most part). They would keep their cushy jobs and all would be well.
  21. Whoever owns syndergaard, trade him too me!!! I need starters!!
  22. I'd love some max! Take a look at my roster/spects/picks if you see anyone you like
